The Browns were 1-31 the two seasons prior to him being drafted, Dumas'
Thanks for the clarification, Dumas'
He actually went 13-18 the following 2 seasons. So, he didn't take that "same team" anywhere.
Now, when Stefanski got there, they finally made the playoffs (and magically the offense improved dramatically).
Baker's play improved that year AND they had 2 running backs account for nearly 2,000 yards rushing and 18 TD's between the 2 of them.
So, yeah, there's that.
Some people, [See: Haters without a clue] need to check this link out and then go to the top and pick individual categories and see where Mayfield ranked

Isn’t penix closing in on 30? No thanks
Trask? Come on dude. All for improving over baker, but that will be another veteran or maybe and I say maybe a first round rookie under the age of 25
Elite qbs play til 35-40 and hes 23, He may have not looked impressive during those trap game weeks, but hes a dime dropper in the texas game was he carried that win with his arm, bucket drops and backshoulder throws in tight windows. I've looked more into him and he always had that it factor and came from tampa bay tech hs. What was so impressive about that texas game is his arm made me think Arod, Brees on how accurate he was

Got to like how Mayfield played this year. We dont win the division otherwise
that being said, very disappointed with last 2 weeks performance and we wont win if he plays like that on Monday

His stock could rise even further tonight.
Seriously hope we don't see him or Daniels in the NFCS.
Bucs scouts are for sure looking at him seeing how many washington guys we have on this team already

Stats can lie, film doesn't and he has missed players consistently and made some head scratching decisions. I haven't watched the other qbs exclusively as Baker, but we are 20th in ppg, how can a guy be top 10 in all those passing categories and still leave an inefficient offense. He leaves enough plays out there that makes us too inconsistent. If we are trying to dynasty it we need a better qb, he needs to get better

If he has a great game, he won't make it until #20.
Besides, if Licht/Bowles are still here next season, Baker will be too (with a multi-year deal).
Took a 1-31 team,
You keep saying this, over and over and over.
What the hell are you rambling about?

Then he set a rookie TD record in 13 games
Sure, they were 1-31 prior to Mayfield, Nick Chubb, and Jarvis Landry being added to their team.
I'm not sure how the Browns let their franchise-saving QB out of the building, Mrs. Mayfield.
I'm praying for a Caleb, Maye, Daniels 1-2-3 in the top 5. And someone snags Penix before ATL does at 8 because he could be their pick.Elite qbs play til 35-40 and hes 23, He may have not looked impressive during those trap game weeks, but hes a dime dropper in the texas game was he carried that win with his arm, bucket drops and backshoulder throws in tight windows. The only way Penix doesn't go as high as if those medical concerns scare teams away.

This would be ideal.
I'm telling you, if Atlanta gets the right guy at HC (could you imagine Ben Johnson being the hire), and Daniels or Penix.
This division is theirs for the foreseeable future.
It would be hell facing ATL if they had Daniels or Penix. They have weapons and an above average OL to make a quick turnaround. Not to mention most of their studs are in their rookie contract. That team is not in bad shape at all. Defense is solid as well, just missing a force at EDGE. Hoping they miss out on the qbs and have to draft other need.I'm praying for a Caleb, Maye, Daniels 1-2-3 in the top 5. And someone snags Penix before ATL does at 8 because he could be their pick.

Fingers crosses they don't get either.
But, even if they're stuck with Ridder for another year, a good OC may be able to get the most out of him.
Look at this year with Canales/Baker.

Just imagine if he stops leaving plays out there as consistently as he has been, or cuts down on his head scratching decision over time. Not a single season, but over a few seasons. Even if they lose, I would give him 3 solid years with the same offense, no offseason/on season drama, and players that "get" him. Listen, Im allowed to dream, but that sounds pretty good to me.
Reason I believe he leaves plays out there is his talent he doesn't have the best arm talent, I truly believe Trask is able to replicate the same season or score more ppg than Baker if he became the starter
