I'm praying for a Caleb, Maye, Daniels 1-2-3 in the top 5. And someone snags Penix before ATL does at 8 because he could be their pick.
This would be ideal.
I'm telling you, if Atlanta gets the right guy at HC (could you imagine Ben Johnson being the hire), and Daniels or Penix.
This division is theirs for the foreseeable future.
Someone on the radio this morning opined the Falcons will hire Harbaugh and he will bring Bienemi with him as OC...
That would be interesting...and potentially scary (referring to Bienemi with those weapons).
Winston had his fair share of opponent drops as well. It's fair to use Mayfield's stats this year because that's the only year he's had with the Bucs. Bowles emphasis was not to turn the ball over, and Mayfield followed through with that. He had an INT% of 1.8%. What he did in past years with other teams is irrelevant, but he has a career INT% of 2.6%. As for Winston he did have his worst year in the last year, but he has a career INT% of 3.4% of course 99% of his stats were with the Bucs. His best year he had 2.5% in 13 games in 2017. The other years were 2.8, 3.2, 2.7 and 4.8.Jameis 30 INTs, Mayfield 10 INTs. End of discussion.
Comparing Winston's worst INT season vs. one of Baker's best.
Solid argument there, Champ!
Not only that, but I've lost count on how many gimme picks opponents have dropped this season. Hell, there were at least two last game. We all look at the numbers and think Mayfield has improved in this facet. And maybe has has somewhat, but not to extent it looks on paper.
So yes turnovers are the main difference between Mayfield and Winston. That is the reason Mayfield was able to keep his job and the reason Winston didn't keep his. I don't actually know what you are trying to point out here.
Mayfield > Winston> Trask
Baker has been the starting QB for 2 separate teams to make playoffs, both dogshit franchises in Cleveland and Tampa Bay mind you. Baker has been in the league for 6 years, having ranked them 3 decent years and 3 shit years.
Winston has never been the starting QB for a team to make the playoffs. Winston has been in the league for 9 years and other than his retarded victory formation can't follow instructions hand off TD on Sunday, hasn't been relevant the last 2 seasons. In his 5 seasons in Tampa, he had 1 good season in 2016 and 4 shit years. 2019 was so good with 33 touchdowns that he was replaced and couldnt get an opportunity to even compete to start in 2020.
One thing is for sure, in his 4 seasons with New Orleans, the playing time he has gotten is only something Kyle Trask would dream of in his next seasons. Albeit, he may only get 1 more in this league.
Winston had his fair share of opponent drops as well.
Sure, every QB does here and there. But not like we've seen this year with Mayfield. He's been very lucky in the interception department.
I don't actually know what you are trying to point out here.
It looks like you understand, but you aren't willing to acknowledge the amount gimme interceptions that have been dropped this season. It's hasn't been normal.
Oddly enough, the discussion is still ongoing and hasn't been ended - as previously reported.
People can pull up his effing stats all they want, but a huge chunk of those are from garbage time. Just look at his adjusted QBR where he's 18th. He's had just 4 games that were considered above average in QBR. Four. He's had 9, yes NINE, below average with 5 of them below 30 which is bottom feeder territory. The other 4 games were average. He sucks. Period. I am 100% convinced that Trask would have done at least as good and won 9 games and we'd have a better answer as to whether or not he could be the guy or if we should draft another starter. But here we are, potentially in a spot to sign the 18th best QB, in a down year no less, to a multi-year deal worth at least $20million a year or more. Makes me want to puke.
If Trask came out and lit it up, we'd have him next season for dirt cheap and could use all the money on players we need to keep or FA's that could fill key holes while we hit the other positions in the draft. If he sucked, then we'd know exactly what we have to do and draft one of the QB's (unless a better FA becomes available). Instead we're limping into the playoffs hoping the more beat up Eagles play like skank ass so we can beat their hated asses and send them back to a burning down Philly. More than likely, we'll end up sucking with a banged up Baker and be packing it up after the season. Of course, we might get to see Bowles sent home then, but, as Frosty said on LV-426, "I have a bad feeling about this!"

but it seems here, if you think Mayfield has done a half decent job, you are called a Baker Bro,
this is a way to DISMISS the substance of a point without having to address it. Just like name calling.
It's all to avoid the actual substance. Last year if you suggested the Bucs woes were more than the play calling you were a "Leftwich Leg Humper"
This year if you point out Canales role (even as an outspoken Canales fan) . . youre a Baker Bros.
The funny thing is that the posters who use things like Lefty Leg Humper and Baker Bros then take issue with being dismissed as Trask supporters (totally missing the irony . . .)
Football is always subject to endless opinions because the game is such a interconnected team game and momentums plays a big part. Baker hits Evans, the game probably is different. Palmer doesn't drop a pass form Mayfield . . the game probably turnsout different. Otton doesnt totally whiff on a block . .
whatever a camp wants to see it can find. ("baker checked into that bad play" lol)
Baker is too inconsistently bad to be the future qb
Do you even understand what you wrote here, genius~?
If Trask was worth a damn, Baker would never have been signed. Those still clinging to Trask are funny.
mayfield's ACTUAL stats
4044yds
28 TDs
10INTs
372 GPOD
"gimme picks opponents have dropped this season"
So, really not his best season because in 2020 he only had 79 GPOD. That was a season!!!!
any thoughts on Penix stock after the loss to Michigan?
Anyone who went to training camp, watched training camp, or read the reports will know Trask outperformed Mayfield on the field, off the field Mayfield is the cooler more outgoing guy that won his teammates. Trask is the more talented passer. Geno smith fell back the year after, Baker is gonna be the same. He cant pass over the middle, inaccurate at times and makes sus decisions, he is too inconsistent for us to be an elite team.
His ceiling is a Flacco or Eli, and thats only if he has the elite defenses to carry and IF he can be a playoff demon. If thats what were going for we need to start spending money on pass rushers
Giving Baker any more than a 2 year contract will be a terrible idea
Baker is too inconsistently bad to be the future qb
Do you even understand what you wrote here, genius~?
Inconsistently bad, does it mean hes bad at time, good at times?
Would you rather have inconsistently good to be the qb of the future? same meaning different adjective?
PR has reported that Buc will likely draft a QB in 2024 and that is in part due to their assessment that Trask is not a starter
Point: if the reporting is accurate, blame the Bucs or blame Trask for not winning the confidence of the Bucs, but it’s NOT like he sitting there as some unknown quantity
yeah. I don’t understand what they don’t understand about this.
its like they think trask is in the dog house or being wronged
there’s nothing the front office wanted more but for trask to step up
he just wasn’t capable
and that’s not a dig at him. Only 32 exist in the entire world
Same reason hes sat on the bench in HS and College, he just not a rah rah guy, but when you let him play he makes plays. He's one of those quiet guys who get overlooked because he doesn't talk enough, but knows whats going on. Canales has been able to scheme open receivers in about every game, which is why I have total confidence Trask was able to do what Baker has done, he doesn't have to do anything special just deliver the ball with confidence, which he did in training camp. Trask and Bakers pros and cons are practically inversed.
Pros: Baker cant rally the guys Con:Misses guys, cant throw over the middle
I’ve posted a couple times and believe that the Bucs are best served by Trask being a hidden, underutilized talent. Hope he is. The Bucs, including Canales, don’t seem to think he is a starter. They may all be wrong.

That's if you believe he has talent.
