See, HE DOES HAVE AN ARM,  Who was he competing against?  Scrubs? Bottom of the tier QB's or the others who were selected to join him the in Pointless Probowl? If so, thats just one more thing that no one will want to let me have, a pin in his cap that the haterz want to tarnish.

Just for curiosity sake, what is the "challenge" exactly.  Is it like hitting a bullseye or moving target...Ive seen that before.  If he won it, Id like to hear how he was able to do so vs vastly superior "non-journeyman" peers?  Did he beat the odds....again.  Maybe Ill youtube it.  In fact, I will.  Ill make sum popcorn and watch it for myself.  Thanks seekpar, that'll surely be entertaining to watch.  Much better than posting ALL to myself in these boards.

Am I Ms. Mayfield?  I may have read that wrong, I thought we respected each other more than that,

You did, in fact, read that wrong.

I was referring to the bandwagon, team flopping beta cuck.

My favorite part is when he picks a 1 pointer with his 4th throw, he thought it was going to take that "pawn" off the board, but the minutia of the rules(??? refs) put the pawn back on the field, not even Baller or Eli knew that bs rule (or the announcers either it seemed), they were trying to ice the game with a heady move.  MAKE STROUD HIT EVERY PASS or Lose...despite the pawn being gift back to stroud... he converted the point, but with his last throw, He still (unfortunately for him) BARELY Missed.  Cudos to Stroud for selling out with the Gold ball, go for 10-BIG or GO HOME.  Baller, awesome job...You already won, You didnt even need to throw the 6th ball, but'ya'did'anyway like casually too, off his backfoot and was 3-4 feet wide left.  Nice man!!!!

More random stats I came across while perusing JBF, sooper bored today.  Too cold to garden.  Anyhoo, I present to you....stat STUFF!

PRESEASON WIN-SHARE RANKING: 26th
FINAL WIN-SHARE RANKING: 14th

That preseason ranking wasn’t on wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Just want to put that out there. Back at the beginning of September, how many folks anticipated Baker Mayfield leading the Buccaneers to the NFC South title and blowing out the defending conference champion Eagles in the playoffs? Not only did Baker become just the second Bucs QB to eclipse 4,000 yards passing with a 90-plus passer rating (Tom Brady is the other), but he also connected with Evans for seven deep passing TDs (20-plus air yards), which ranked second in the NFL behind only the Tua Tagovailoa-Tyreek Hill combo. He also threw 14 touchdown passes on attempts under 10 air yards during the regular season (fifth most) and generated a +40.5 EPA on these attempts — the third-highest figure in the league — with 29 of those tosses going to RB Rachaad White (tops among QB-pass catcher duos).

Bottom line: The Buccaneers crafted a system that worked for their QB, and he executed at a very high level.

Hi, name's Rich.  Tried to search for a "Introduce Yourself" thread, but didn't find it, so I decided to put this here.

I'm actually a Chiefs fan, but I grew up an Okie; been a Sooner fans for longer than I've been a Chiefs fan, nearly 46 years now.  So I've been a Baker fan for a decade already.  Wherever Baker goes, I've been signing up on that fan Forum, though mostly I lurk and rarely post.

Actually, I'm signed up on several boards, mostly to follow certain players I like; Sooners, ex-Chiefs, etc. Hoping to have some great football conversations while I'm here, which will be at least as long as Baker remains a Buc.  Began posting here because I'm fairly certain he'll stay in TB for awhile.

Anyway, hi everyone, and I look forward to getting to know some of you while we talk football for the next little while.

Peace.

FeelIng DangeroUs.  Im Ramon The Boards "Crazy person"  Anyhoo.  Because he was not on the bucs I dont know anything other than the lay person about him.  I know he was drafted 1st overall after winning(?) the Heisman.  We went to the Browns and he was supposed to CHANGE the rotational axis of the Browns org, they even had him do some marketing and commercial...I did see the one with him and his morning coffee, it was dope!  I also listened to the media narrative about how inconsistent he was, but also heard about him bouncing around, no stability and THEN GETS BETRAYED in CLEVELAND for a guy who, apparently LOVES massages, betrayal....thats a hard one to let roll off your back.  So clearly I envisioned a "Bust" or "Victim" of inconsistency coming to MI Bucs, at that point I was on the Trask train, it was a "rebuilding year, lets see what we have in Trask" but then I saw Baller scramble and it WAS AWESOME, watching a "comparatively little" guy run angry through defensive ends...thats BALLz to me.  So I watched more and started seeing a certain "attitude" is perhaps the best way to describe it, or the ever vague "Moxie."  The work to to the point I was working 7days a week 13-14 hour days and I stopped watching the games, just didnt have the minutes in the day.  And then I would see the scores and the BUCS were getting clobbered in the 2nd third of the season like losing 7 or sumthing games out of 8.  Well then they got hot, and coincidentally I decided to retire(ish-still debating), too much work, not enough play makes johnny a very sad boy and all that.  So I started watching again and those scrambles that Wow'd me initially were like a normal thing for him, he does that on the regular.  But He couldnt hit a deep ball and the offense stalled in Carolina...so even tho we were winning, I doubted Ballerz arm talent.  I had heard about the GB game and the Texans game-didnt have the minutes, so I decided to really pay attention in the Stinking Iggles game, a "meaningless" Layoff game in which we were supposed to be fodder for the Iggles, well the Iggles momentum was in freefall and we were on FIRE!!!  The asz whooping that we put on the Iggles was...yeah, The Bucs Clap'em wayyyy harder than W. Smith clapped the Rock.  Most importantly, I really paid attention to his throws, and HOLY S- its off the chain.  I couldnt believe it, I thought it was an outlier performance, you know the "hot Baller" version of his inconsistency, but at least-Hey, thats his arm talent "ceiling" and its real good....can he do it again against the Lions?  I few few agree with me, but I thought Baller played amazingly AGAIN vs the LIONS, he basically was the best player on the field that day.  I DID not feel AT ALL that Goof Goff outplayed him.  Goff was putrid until the 4th quarter- we went into "prevent" defense sigh.  Anyway, I saw the arm talent again, I counted- and IM UNTRAINED in football lingo or schematics-maybe 5 or 6 bad passes and like 12 AMAZING passes, the other were quite good as well.  Then after we lose, the next day I saw a video about how Baller led all QB's through the first 2 games of the Playoffs.  I was Shocked!!!  Then I remembered those good games he had when I didnt have any times and I saw like 4 other performances that were, not good but, AMAZING, mixed in with some poor games and medium games surely.  Thing is, those poor games and middling games....why, why do they keep popping up?  My intuition says that its a result of his getting SHAFTED from the time he was drafted until today.  I think if an org and team fully goes ALL IN ON HIM, well that team will be rewarded with ear to year grins on Sundays for years to come.  Im ALL IN NOW,  bUt Im a gambler...and I really like this guys internal fire, reminds me of someone very close to me, and I go ALL In on that person on the DaIlI.

Tell me what Ur take is on his situation since U are far more familiar with him that I.  Am I totally off the mark here?

TB, One of the OG's.  Yeah, thats what a REAL One lOOks lIke, a field General.  I bet I woulda loved rooting for that Guy back in the day.  He's naturally funny and charismatic-typically a prerequisite-but I love his flavor, dude is UnAfraId.  Hard talent to master that one.  IronIcally, He has more Teeth in his old age, than he did when he was gunslinging for SuperBowls- Like Happy Gilmore decided to PLay QB instead of GoOlFF.

The problem with this line of thinking is that there are a lot of QB's out there that can give you an elite game from time to time during a season. What separates the good and bad QB's are the ones that are more consistent from game to game and the better QB's more consistently have above average games. Good QB's don't give you below average games half the season, which is what Mayfield did (9 out of 17 games were below average). And remember, that was a career year for him. That's his ceiling. Individual games don't represent a guy's ceiling. There are QB's that can't give you elite games ever, but those are normally late round QB's. Normally.

This is so true. I remember a Bucs game vs the Bears back in 2019 when Trubisky went 19/26 354yds 6tds 0ints 3runs/53yds. That is an incredibly elite stat line vs a SB winning defense the following season. How has Trubisky's career worked out since 2019? Give me a QB who can be consistently good from game to game with a few +/- outliers.
