With the Bucs needing a talent upgrade in several areas in 2014, don't be surprised if Lovie Smith raids his former team, the Bears, in free agency. Chicago has a slew of free agents that could be available this year, including KR-PR Devin Hester and CB Charles Tillman, and won't be able to re-sign them all. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=9558:&Itemid=15
Bear raid. Nice headline
I'm curious about how much money Melton would demand on the open market. Former franchised player w/ good production vs injury and off field issue.
Melton will probably be trying to get a starting job
So we have the mostly pointless Hester sucking down a roster spot. Melton who will want starter money being "insurance" for GMC. A CB who is 33 coming off major injury as likely targets. Did the word "likely" change meanings or is this just really bad thinking?
didn't Charles tillman resign the same day cutler did
I wouldn't call it bad thinking, it's more akin to a stop gap measure to cover the sins of previous failed drafts. The team has what? 5 selections in the upcoming draft? I'd like to see them use most of that to build Tedfords offense. There'll be more options in FA to work on defense besides these guys But I wouldn't be opposed to looking at maybe one or two of these former Lovie guys for a short term band aid. If Tillman is healthy he's always had good game.*It's likely that Melton will end up being a player realistically we can't afford. Be nice to have, but don't see it happening. Which leads us to the Revis contract. But that's a separate topic.

Jennings
Schiano brings in his ex-rutger players and now Lovie wants to bring in the Chicago FA rejects? Woohoo, color me excited....
Tillman is far too old.Would love to bring in Hester though.
Tillman's 32. Hester's 31.Tillman's production has not fallen off. Hester on the other hand.
Draft Watkins at #7, explosive receiver and explosive KR, instead of bringing in Hester who is limited to just special teams. JMO

After he runs a 4.35 at the combine, he will be drafted by the Raiders.
