When Blount arrived in New England, he got an apartment across the hall from Talib. He vented, he asked questions. He allowed himself to be ground down, and finally relented to a piece of advice coaches had been telling him for years. At 6-feet and a thick 250 pounds, he would never succeed unless he lowered his pad level. His unusual speed and athleticism would be worthless if the target area for opponents was wider than some left tackles. While some of it was desperation — if Blount didn’t succeed in New England, would a third team have given him a chance? — Blount made sure to include the name of his instructor. He was nothing other than a Patriot now. And while it was easy to boast, especially after racking up single-game franchise records, Blount didn’t miss his chance to do so."I changed it because I had to, because Bill (Belichick) told me to," he said.
I forget what it was like to have coaches who could get the most out of players.
I forgot what it was like to have players who could be coached without it taking years.
True.Thank God for the guys we have now.
Which guys we have now?
More Good guys to root for.. LVD, McCoy, Mike James, Banks, Doug, Mase, and other guys like that. That's better than Raheem's band of knuckleheads.
McCoy was a Rah pick. You're almost clueless x)
Who cares neither guy is a Buc.

I know that.. I never said he wasn't.
Oh please, are you guys all serious? Anyone ever wonder why Belicheck and Schiano get along so well? It's because they are so much alike. The difference is when Schiano says you must change, it's a college coach saying it and when Belicheck says it, it's a guy wearing rings who might be one of the best coaches in the modern football era.I always liked Blount and Talib. Thought they were generally good guys who just had a propensity for making really bad decisions. I wasn't crushed when they left but realized they did have talent. Just not the kind of guys Schiano wanted here and most generally agreed until now.
Talib is the same. Overrated. Gets burned on a handful of plays every game.Legarrette is running completely different though. He looks great.

You can call Talib overrated but he still makes our secondary way better

He got 1 right in 3 years. Does he get a medal?

I guess getting passed on by a couple different teams finally made him decided to listen to what coaches had been telling him for years. Finally sunk in just in time for the playoffs.

Not by a whole lot, and he will never be worth the #1 corner money he is going to get.Just watch him on Sunday. He will break up a pass or two and the announcers will heap praise on him. Then, a short time later, Decker or Thomas will barbecue him for a TD.Just Talib being Talib.

I'm not saying he is worth number one money but for what New England got him for and what they are paying him he is worth it.
Yeah that is true.I think he is a FA in March though.
I remember what Hakeem Nicks did to Talib last year. Nicks could have been rang up on felony assault and battery charges.
Bart Hubbuch ?@HubbuchNYP 15mLeGarrette Blount to me today on his old team, the Buccaneers: "I don't care about them. I do know they went 4-12 and we're here, though."SHOTS FIRED
Like some f'ed up nightmare this year.
