Alright draft is almost here let's have a little fun.

I think the idea of traditional positions (especially on defense) is a little archaic (spelling) so I will come up with my reasonably possible best case scenario for this team in the draft and fill out an update "role chart"

I hope everyone else enjoys trying their hand at this.

Rd 1 Q.Williams DL
Rd 2 N. Adderley DB
Rd 3 E. Jenkins OL
Rd 4 B. Cashman LB
Rd 5 T. Williams RB
Rd 6 T. Pollard WR/RB
Rd 7 T.J. Edwards LB/ teams

For the offense it is much of the same with Jenkins coming in to battle (and probably beat out Cappadocia) leaving us with some combo of Jensen Ali and Jenkins inside.

Trayvon Williams great blocker and receiver should take over as 3rd down back

Tony Pollard comes in to compete as a kick returner end around gadget guy that can give some depth at slot. Clear competition for Bobo.

Now the defense will be more specific since we are finally going to get a little creative with the roles.

Vita Vea and Quinnen will be almost interchangeable on the interior. I do not envy interrior lineman in the NFC South.
I would keep Gholston and Beau if just for depth and Gholston as a true 5 tech on running downs.

Shaq Barrett, JPP, Nassib, and Spence (who I almost forgot we had on the team when I started this) will provide the edge rush with Barrett as a starting OLB dripping into coverage and rushing the passer with JPP on the other side and the others providing depth and having their own packages. For instance JPP at 3 tech in pass rush situations etc.

The only ILB that is not coming off the field is LVD at WILB with Cashman next to him in base packages and if he plays well in coverage may even get some snaps in nickel. That brings me to Deone Bucanon is the "money backer" LB/S dime LB. With Minter as a mentor/depth player.

The secondary is where things get fun. Nasir Adderley becomes our weakside safety playing alot of centre field in cover 1 and 3 but can still play the robber and come down and tackle. If Deone is the "money backer" as a LB/S hybrid Justin Evans will be the "honey backer" filling the Mathieu S/NB role playing the traditional SS role in base but coming down to play the nickel, blitzing off the edge etc. Jordan Whitehead, Brice and MJ will battle it out as the SS that comes in when Evans drops down to play

I think VH3 and Carlton will start on the outside, after the draft I see us bringing in Mo Claiborne as a contingency plan leaving Ryan Smith, and DeVante Harris as depth.
