Guess now he won't get his chance to hit double digit sacks
I was kinda hoping he would permanently go on tour with that gospel group that played after the last home game at RJS.
I can see how he would get injured. That fella really went all-out on the football field.
For what?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't he been dealing with an injury all season?
Schiano tried to give him MRSA and it didn't work so Schiano tripped him up in the parking lot. Load the IR with players and that gives Schiano more of an excuse.
http://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/nfl/football-player-news?rw=1 Bucs placed DE Da'Quan Bowers (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.Bowers' wildly disappointing season wraps with him on the shelf. He lost his starting job to Daniel Te'o-Nesheim early on, has fallen behind William Gholston recently and contributed just seven tackles and one sack in 13 games. All this after Bowers was expected to have a huge role in the wake of Michael Bennett's departure. Note that Bowers' draft stock slid drastically back in 2011 due to his knees.Bucs signed DE Scott Solomon.Solomon gets a one-game look with Da'Quan Bowers (knee) sidelined. The 2012 seventh-round pick of the Titans will be a deep reserve at end and help on special teams.
Did Bowers mess around and tackled somebody again?
GM Jr on SolomonSTRONG POINTSSolomon shows a great competitive nature and the versatility to be effectiveas an edge rusher as 43 DE or 34 OLB. He uses his quick burst off the ball topressure the QB. He has good counter moves to defeat blocks and pressureQB. He has good instincts and does not get fooled by trick or miss-directionplays. He consistently takes on run blocks with good leverage, flashesability to holds ground and can disengage to make tackle on runs at him.WEAKNESSESStrength at the point of attack is a major concern. He can easilybe washed away by double teams or bigger and more agileOTs. He is a bit of a tweener and lacks the ability to be an everydown player in the NFL. His lack of agility would make hima liability in coverage where receivers could easily createseparation. When in a 2pt LB stance he lacks the same burstoff the line as he does with a hand on the ground as a DE.SUMMARYScott Solomon is a 5th year Senior from Rice University where he became an immediate starter rightout of High School. He has shown good durability in college except for missing the whole 2010 seasondue an injury suffered late in training camp. Although he was not quite as explosive off the ball orchanging direction as he was before the foot injury, his highly competitive nature is a welcomed assetto any DE rotation. He projects best as a situational pass rusher as a 43 DE or 34 OLB and does nothave a strong enough base to become a starter at in NFL. Overall, Solomon is not likely to become a starterin the NFL, but with his size, competitiveness and pass rush skills he is an excellent 5th or 6th round pickwith developmental upside. He definitely helped his draft status with an excellent workout at the Combine.
Bowers = another HUGE swing and a miss for the Bucs on the D-Line.
Dominik's double dipping was so innovative, tho'...
Did Bowers mess around and tackled somebody again?
lulzBowers is toast here. Hopefully we let him go this offseason. Gholston should be getting the bulk of the reps anyways.
Did he get hurt falling off the bench?
Awww, and he was doing so well.
Don't really get the Bowers hate on this site. kid was a fiend in college and built like a superstar end. Body just seems to have betrayed him. Still think its BS we've ridden with DTN all year instead of him though.
