Don't really get the Bowers hate on this site. kid was a fiend in college and built like a superstar end. Body just seems to have betrayed him. Still think its BS we've ridden with DTN all year instead of him though.
I dont hate the kid at all...just wished he had lived up to his potential. A big part of me thinks he has issues with motivation...be it wrong or not I think a lot of the board sees that as well.
Damn. There goes our season.

i think its BS we kept that bust over Bennett.
GM Jr on SolomonSTRONG POINTSSolomon shows a great competitive nature and the versatility to be effectiveas an edge rusher as 43 DE or 34 OLB. He uses his quick burst off the ball topressure the QB. He has good counter moves to defeat blocks and pressureQB. He has good instincts and does not get fooled by trick or miss-directionplays. He consistently takes on run blocks with good leverage, flashesability to holds ground and can disengage to make tackle on runs at him.WEAKNESSESStrength at the point of attack is a major concern. He can easilybe washed away by double teams or bigger and more agileOTs. He is a bit of a tweener and lacks the ability to be an everydown player in the NFL. His lack of agility would make hima liability in coverage where receivers could easily createseparation. When in a 2pt LB stance he lacks the same burstoff the line as he does with a hand on the ground as a DE.SUMMARYScott Solomon is a 5th year Senior from Rice University where he became an immediate starter rightout of High School. He has shown good durability in college except for missing the whole 2010 seasondue an injury suffered late in training camp. Although he was not quite as explosive off the ball orchanging direction as he was before the foot injury, his highly competitive nature is a welcomed assetto any DE rotation. He projects best as a situational pass rusher as a 43 DE or 34 OLB and does nothave a strong enough base to become a starter at in NFL. Overall, Solomon is not likely to become a starterin the NFL, but with his size, competitiveness and pass rush skills he is an excellent 5th or 6th round pickwith developmental upside. He definitely helped his draft status with an excellent workout at the Combine.
Sounds like the anti-Bowers...
Bowers deserves the hate. Predicted in the offseason he was going to get 16 sacks or something like that and then shows up to TC out of shape.

Is exactly how I feel.

Probably lose out the rest of the way.
Scott Soloman seems to be able to play inside and outside(of the Dline); he's a strong hustle player with techniques; he usesa Freeney spin move; he makes smart plays and hustle plays. Hopefully, the Bucs have found a more effective Teo. He might be faster than he's tested seeming he had an injury to deal with.

He was a free agent going into week 17 lol.
Solomon must be one of those missing pieces.

War Daddy?
The legendary Solomon. I heard his half brother is Larry Brackens and Chad Spann is his cousin. He is a sure fire Hall of Famer.
If you listened to Sherridan's PC, he said Bowers has been hurt ALL year long.Bowers gets a pass imo.Whoever the hell decided we should keep putting an injured player out there does not.

I agree 100%.
Good thing we got rid of the injured Bennett. Bowers is going to get double digit sacks.
