I am not a Dean fan at all but he's tough to figure out because he does make stops in that game. But then the facemask.
it's always something
He isn't mentally engaged at a high clip..when he is he is above average.
Our secondary still doesn't give me a ton of confidence
From a talent perspective, they're much better than last year.
Agreed but the scheme and the performance week 1 give me pause. Especially Dean
I get it.
Curious to see how it looks later in the season, assuming it's a look of Zyon, Morrison, and Parrish.
Listen, we should all be pumped after a huge week 1 divisional road win with the one team that has a chance to unseat us as NFC South Champs. We are superbowl bound type energy.
That being said, i'd like to see consistency. Let's pump the breaks on any accolades except for Edbuka who was awesome in his first game. He deserves his flowers as does Baker being clutch. But as for Bowles, it will be how this team responds to familiar test:
it's not like we haven't seen 3-1 starts by this same team/coach be squandered before by losing streaks the last 2 seasons only to end up with mediocre 9,10 win seasons
TEST 1 - Can they win a toss up game in prime time? THIS WEEK against Houston.
TEST 2- The next test would be week 3, can they win a game they ultimately should easily win and not have a let down game.
TEST 3 -then, the next test would be weeks 4 through 7 where we face all tough opponents in Philly, Seattle, San Fran, and Detroit. Can we at least go 2-2 in that span or do we see another losing streak
TEST 4 - would be how we measure up against a team like Buffalo in Buffalo.
TEST 5 - and the final regular season test would be one we passed the last 2 years, can we win the games we should win in the final 6 games (ARZ, NO, ATL, CAR X2, MIA); at least 5-1 in that span but should be 6-0.
this team should be at least an 11 win team and maybe do some damage in playoffs. but i am happy with week 1 at least but not ready to call Bowles extension a success just yet.

Bowles of years past 100% punts on 4th and 10 last night.
What a gritty performance. Lots of positives

big week coming up to see if test 3 gets passed
do we do our typical collapse of losing 4 games after a hot start?
sure has the makings of it especially if we can’t beat Seattle
is this team different than prior years? Let’s find out if we are 12+ win team or pretender one and done.
The one thing we know is that the team has no real quit in them. Its hard to tell the actual strength of the team because of the injuries, but they certainly seem to have the right character to be a winner. That alone is a transformation from pre-Bowles HC.
The defense actually looks promising. Still incomplete, but if you only use Dean as an example, he went out as usual against the Eagles and Morrison stepped right in and played lights out Last year, he went down in the playoff game and his replacement was a special teamer who immediately gave up a TD.

maybe no Irving, so may be time for "Emmitt Smith" to step up
Stroud, the Tampa Bay Times' Buccaneers beat reporter, shared on social media that he's still awaiting any news regarding Irving.
"Hoping (for an update) later today but would bet he's going to miss a game or two. We'll see," Stroud wrote Tuesday morning.

Bowles' predecessor went 31-18 (.633) as HC, along with being 5-1 in the playoffs and winning a Superbowl.
Todd Bowles is 30-25 (.545) as HC, with a 1-1 playoff record.
Quite the "transformation" for sure. Word salad, away...
The only thing that help equalize is that the injury bug has bitten some of the next few teams we play - somewhat of an equalizer. Some of these teams aren’t as deep as Tampa Bay (I realize we’re getting thin at some positions) Depending on our recent injuries, I can see winning one, possibly two, of these next 3 games.
Will be watching for your next TEST!

Hi Shirley. Focus your brain "power" elsewhere.
Maybe explain how White was RB1?
I can see winning one, possibly two, of these next 3 games.
if they can come out over .500 and get Evans back, Godwin healthy, Bucky hopefully healthier, Goedeke . .? And Grizz hitting his stride . .

Actually, Todd is 1-3 in the playoffs.
