I have noticed that your bend toward conspiracy fixates and blinds your comprehension. You can have your opinion, but you don’t get to call me a racist. Until the end of last season, and all of this season, I backed Bowles. You did not.At this point, DEI is as legitimate a speculation as financial hijinks.
I love how the racism slowly and meticulously bleed out when you guys get angry.
Erhamgerd it isn't money it isn't continuity it isn't incompetence.
IT'S BECAUSE OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. It's DEI! It's CRT! It's socialism! It's replacement theory!
Durrrrrrr
Read the post again, it’s about the legit act of speculation. Because there are no answers and it makes no sense - all we are left with is speculation. Those who think it is wrong, or have personally experienced an impact to their lives or careers due to politically motivated policies. Those who adhere to the teams commitment to a publicly announced DEI policy have as much information on which to base an opinion, as those who think this is a financial pull-back. This team/organization caused all of this.
Some communication was clear, ie the DEI policy regarding aspects of how and where the hire and spend money. Some was due to a lack of communication.
You act like the team didn’t say that on some level - the organization makes decisions on who they hire and where they direct financial resources - according to skin color and financial stratification?
Don’t see what you want to see. I have said repeatedly I am not one of those people.
You tell me why we sucked on defense and we retained the architect of the defense. Whatever you answer, is based on your own speculation. Because you can’t prove it - it is no more or less - what anyone else thinks.
Buc fans are angry and in a communication vacuum. The Glazers have mishandled this debacle since it started unfolding when they allowed Liam Coen to exit the building.
Blah blah blah. I'm judging Bowles based on his performance and you're attributing his retention to skin color via owners that are massive Trump donors and supporters.
This isn't a Mark Cuban led team dude. The Glazers don't give two shits about DEI and anything they claim to care about is strictly to check a box or appease certain people.
But YOU have shown YOUR colors when YOU bring this stupid shit up. You're like a calmer version of "Dave". Same shit...

Only you would know what your own views are on race, but one reason Fire might have responded as he did is seen right there in your post above and its just what Fire said.
Your CHOICE in responding to anger over Bowles was to opine that DEI was just as "legitimate" a speculation as "financial hijinks"
At this point, DEI is as legitimate a speculation as financial hijinks.
That is your speculation of choice to describe "why we sucked on defense and we retained the architect of the defense."
And no Fire cannot prove anything other than your choice because its right in type.
I would say because the "architect of the defense" is ALSO the Head Coach who won 3 division championships, likely when the Bucs were not expecting that kind of success, and he did so --ACCORDING TO THE GM ---with less than ideal personnel. . . its likely that the GM (and Arians) backed him based on their view of his coaching ability, character etc Those are all LEGITIMATE football reasons to give the Head Coach another chance. I dont agree with them, but they are undeniably legitimate, common football-based reasons.
Or, CHOOSE loyalty. Licht has put himself into the firing line now. You speculate he did so because the owners have a DEI policy? Not sure that flies, but okay. Again, your choice.
Licht and Bowles will both be at the front of the firing line when this team falls flat on it's face (or big fat ass) during the 2026 season.

Bowles is retained by staged FBI informants.

WT, for what its worth I enjoy your football takes. We definitely come from different political views, but I like your insight on the Bucs
Yes, I’m sure it’s surprising to come to grips with your own conspiracy theories.
Totally. You nailed it. You're just so in tune with the truth. Did you get a full pardon?
Licht and Bowles will both be at the front of the firing line when this team falls flat on it's face (or big fat ass) during the 2026 season.
At this point, and with this staff, we're closer to a hard reset than we are a legitimate contender.
We should've just pulled the trigger on both of them now versus wasting another year of our good vets and promising younger talent.

That's the sad reality about all this BS. Players' careers are being stymied by these bonehead decisions. Rather than continuing to progress and move forward, they're stuck in neutral with this commitment to mediocrity. I genuinely feel bad for them.

Fortunately, guys like Evans and LVD got rings, and the Brady effect cemented their trips to Canton.
My concern is more with the younger players that came after the Brady/Arians period.
A passive/loser/non-killer instinct can be contagious.
Players' careers are being stymied
I get the point you're making, but if you were to use Diaby as an example it is a bit more nuanced than that.
Diaby was bust to many people here in 2024. In reality, with very little help (Kancey injured, Reddick marginal play) Diaby improved AGAIN.
2023 38 tackles 7.5 sacks 1 FF
2024 54 tackles, 4.5 sacks 1 FF
2025 50 tackles, 7 sacks, 1 FF
He is consistently the team leader in pressures. He expressed that he felt this season like he was out there alone so I think that supports your point (eg Reddick as a bad move), but if LICHT gets a legit counterpart and Kancey stay healthy (big IF) he will continue on an upward trajectory that many here said was never to happen. In other words, he carrier is not stymied its moving forward.
Most of the young guys (Parrish etc) also flourished. The problem was more the older guys (LVD).

Diaby was a third rounder so that's a pretty good pick and someone we can build around. Kancey will get another shot next year but he's a bust. Vea will still be productive.
If Licht can draft David Bailey in the first and grab 2 LBs in the next 2-4 rounds the front seven could be serviceable then we can determine just how bad Bowles is. We know he isn't "good" but he might be able to give us a top 18 unit with more talent.
The secondary is set imo. Could draft a coverage safety.
I don't think Bowles will ever be a good defensive mind again. I want a new DC. But I'm not sure there was much to be done with that front seven. It's the shit play from the secondary that gets me angry with Bowles

Dont you think they need to do something like you describe AND bring in at least a couple FAs, maybe a ILB leader and another edge rusher?
I mean on top of the draft picks

True. Could solve it that way or a combo. I gotta look into our cap space vs players to resign vs who's available.
