His players are not playing for him at all and are gonna let him be fired, no urgency no sense of mental acuity, they think theyre just gonna walk in and do well, they have lost on preparation and heart
I'm fine with firing Bowles, but who do you bring in midseason to be the interim head coach? You aren't going to hire the replacement at this point. Canales? Armstrong, the special teams coach? How about if Licht comes down and coaches? You can't hire the next head coach midseason. The best thing to do is hope that the Bucs realize they finally got the offense going. If you put up a good defensive effort at the same time you can win some games. Bowles should not be a head coach, but there's no point in firing him now.
Have the Glazers ever fired a head coach during the season?
I don’t think so.

No they haven't, in this circumstance I kinda feel like they should have let him find his own way home from Houston. His coaching was single handedly to blame today. Changed up the strategy on defending Stroud at halftime, and it showed. His game management I feel has gotten steadily worse, and he isn't even considering giving up play calling duties. Now part of that might him feeling like if he's going down, he's not going to put his future in someone else' hands...or it could just be his stubborn personality and pride. honestly could see it being either or maybe a little of both. If he was let go at this point though I'd probably give the reigns to Harold Goodwin to interim coach and let Larry Foote and Dave Canales do their jobs without any interference or second guessing.
The PR kool aid sipping is insane. Just last friday most of the staff still had this team winning 9 games. So glad the rest of you woke up from LaLa land.
Bowles is not a good HC and quite frankly was never good to begin with. Every week he’s proven boneheaded game management
fire his ass
Don’t fire him yet.
Inadvertent tank mode is engaged.

this game was pivotal in determining the trajectory of the season. I'd argue the Falcons game was the clear cut game but this was the exclamation point on the season. This game will go down as the season ender and Todd Bowles ender.
in 2022, that game was the Carolina 21-3 loss, dropping us to 3-4. We were coming off a pathetic loss to the Steelers and got blown out against Carolina. At that point, you knew this wasn't the Brady Bucs of 2020 and 2021. At a matter of fact, i'd argue the Falcons win was the game that signaled something was wrong with the team. We were coming off back to back losses and barely held on to beat the Falcons 21-15; got bailed out by a roughing the passer penalty. I remember at the time, that was the least enjoyable win i have experienced in quite a while as i knew this team was not a Super Bowl contender like the last couple years
in 2021, the Saints 9-0 loss was the ultimate ender. We saw Chris Godwin, one of Brady's favorite targets if not most favorite, go down for season. Then follow that up with the Jets win where AB quit and that was the beginning of the end of one of our most dominate seasons. Of Course, Bowles not being able to contain Kupp on that last drive in the Rams playoff loss was the ultimate nail...
in 2020, we all know how that ended up! thank you Tom
in 2019, we were sitting at 3-7 so were never really in it despite the 7-9 record. Season ultimately ended in week 3 when we lost 32-21 to the Giants after being up 28-10.
in 2018, after a 2-0 start, the season ender was the 48-10 bears loss in week 4. Switched from Fitz to Jameis and just never got right spelling the end of Dirk

I think my first post suggested the would get fired now that's why I raised the Glazers.
What I meant was this was the kind of loss that pulls down any shield he might have had because of the obvious cap-related rebuild. I think this is a game that the GM and owners might look back on because this loss was on HIS DEFENSE and his defensive play calling and HIS GUYS (White, Davis etc)

exactly
Falcons game was definitely the nail in the coffin for a lot of people. Me, I was done with Bowles once we lost to the Browns in OT and we ended up losing starters due to injuries. Arians would've had double digit wins for the third season in a row - or any coach with sense. The PR kool aid sipping is insane. Just last friday most of the staff still had this team winning 9 games. So glad the rest of you woke up from LaLa land.

But yeah those were some bad losses against some horrible teams. Really though our offense did nothing against some horrible defenses (CAR, and PIT) and that's when it was confirmed Leftwich got figured out.

From Matt M in that article:
"And the reason I’m talking so much about Tampa Bay’s offense is because I believe the defense will [be] absolutely fine."
:-)
How does Licht survive if Bowles gets fired? The only success Licht has had is due to Tom Brady. He had a losing record with Lovie, Koetter, Arians before Brady and is now 11-14 with Bowles. Licht is going to get FIVE head coaches while busting on TWO top 5 picks?!?!?!

LMAO. . . that one is silly even for you JC.
