How does Licht survive if Bowles gets fired?
LMAO. . . that one is silly even for you JC.
So Licht survives 3 head coaches having losing records under him? If we're going to be brutally honest this team looks no different than any of the teams from 2014-2019. It's obvious who the real problem is.

we need to get somebody from the Baltimore or Philadelphia organizations. they seem to draft very well
Greg Auman
Texans' offensive explosion knocked the Bucs down significantly in NFL defensive rankings: -- 29th in total defense, 372 yards per game -- 31st in pass defense, 279 yards per game -- 31st on third downs, allowing 48% conversions -- 16th in scoring defense, was t-6th last week
2014 draft - Mike Evans! wiffed on Austin Seferian Jenkins and Charles Sims in rounds 2 and 3
2015 draft - wiffed on Jameis Winston, hit on Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet in the second round. Also hit on Kwon Alexander in the 4th round.
2016 - wiffed on Vernon Hargreaves, Noah Spence, and Roberto Aguayo
2017 - wiffed on OJ Howard, Justin Evans, and Kendall Beckwith; hit on Chris Godwin.
so first 4 drafts, he hit on one first round pick. He wit on Godwin, Smith, and Marpet. Terrible track record
2018 - hit on Vita Vea, Carlton Davis, Alex Cappa, and Jordan Whitehead. Wiffed on Ronald Jones and MJ Stewart
2019 - i guess a hit on Devin White, idk. Hit on Murphy Bunting, Dean, Edwards, and Nelson.
2020 - Tristian Wirfs and Winfield! missed on KeShawn Vaughn.
These next 3 drafts were actually pretty darn good. He made up for the crap of his first 4 years and these drafts were pivotal in our Superbowl run. 8 starters out of 22. not too bad.
2021 - wiffed on Joe Tyron, Kyle Trask, Darden and ehhh with Robert Hainsey
2022 - wiffed on Logan Hall and ehh guys like Goedeke, White, and Otton. Appreciated still early for this draft and while all of these guys are seeing significant playing time, not sure any of them would be sure fire starters on other teams.
2023 - Obviously still too early to tell with Kancey, Mauch, and Diaby but the potential is there.
so next 3 drafts, can't really judge 2023 yet but we can certainly judge 2021 and it was garbage. Not one player helped in the Superbowl repeat attempt year and 2 below average starters. 2022 still early to tell but jury is out if any of these guys would be starting on a playoff caliber team
I guess its possible the Glazers clean house, but Licht getting fired because of the performance of the Super Bowl-winning head coach's hand-picked successor . . . during a Super Bowl run rebuild year?
Again, anything is possible, but . . .

I'll ask again, whats the difference between this team and 2015-2019? They look and play the same with FOUR different head coaches.

I think he gets another coaching hire but then I think the goodwill will be used up and he’d have to prove himself
Arians promoted Bowles. Licht and ownership surely were involved in the decision, but it was Arians who was most responsible. Licht will get some more time, but the leash will be short.

Agreed. Most rational people aren't going to hang Lovie or Bowles record on the GM, as he didn't hire them. Unlike Lovie, you can blame the drafts with Bowles at HC on Licht though. He doesn't get a pass there.

you can ask as many times as you like. Its a message board

So are we taking Evans and Marpet away from Licht also?

I would say it's pretty well documented that Lovie had full control and final say on personnel decisions, so ultimately he does get the credit/blame. I'm guessing they both wanted Evans, but there is the possibility Licht didn't want Evans while Lovie did.
I do find it difficult to believe that Lovie was scouting OL from Hobart College, but I could be wrong. I would speculate Lovie was throwing Licht (and other scouts) a bone with that Marpet selection and signed-off on the pick.
From 2014 to 2018, the Bucs finished in last place in the division in 4 out of 5 seasons. in 2016, they finished 2nd. No playoff appearences.
Form 2009 to 2013, the Bucs finished in last place in the division in 5 out of 5 seasons. In 2010, they finished 3rd. No playoff appearances.
would say that is not acceptable "improvement" dont you think
in 2019, brought in Arians and finished in third place at 7-9 after a 3-7 start. Again, absolute shit. No playoff appearance.
in 2020, the football gods gave us Brady who brought his HoF caliber friends in Gronk and AB with him and we won the Superbowl. We then rallied off 2 straight division titles but again had Brady on the roster. Even washed up Brady last year managed to win crazy last minute/Q4 comebacks vs LA Rams, New Orleans, Arizona and Carolina. i mean shit man. so take the Greatest of All Time off of Litch's resume just for a second as that seems to be the only time he had success with 3 playoff appearances.
in 2023, we are 3-5 and likely finishing third place in the division. You guessed it. No playoff appearence.
i think the Glazers thoroughly enjoy the gamble the team took with Brady and Licht will get another coaching hire but this off-season will be it. The goodwill of the Superbowl will be done. I mean shit even Bill B is on the hot seat and he coached his franchise to 6 superbowls!
if they dont get their QB of the next 10-15 years, i think Licht is toast after this next coaching hire.
