So, he filed now, meaning the entire cap hit is coming this year. Looks like some deep cuts coming and a QB on the cheap -- get used to the idea of Trask and a cheap vet.
Good.
We’ll go into 2024 with a new HC and a much more attractive cap situation.
The letter means nothing. He is still under contract with the Bucs until March. He can still agree to sign a dummy contract with the team for a one year Vet minimum to help with the cap. The Bucs can then put him on the retirement list June 1. The retirement letter also does nothing to start a clock for pension benefits or the the Hall of Fame. For the pension he must not play for one full season and for the HOF he must go 5 seasons in a row without playing.
That's good info, Culo, but according to the PR article, the Bucs will likely "bite the bullet" on the Brady contract and try to find other ways to deal with salary cap issues. Well, maybe when they start grinding it out with the other ways the "bite the bullet" idea may seem less desirable. Bowles is not going to want to play the Lovie Smith role for the Bucs.
Why do you act like Bowles has a choice?
he is an employee of a company
Much like you or I at our company. Our ownership calls the shots
Bowles blew it with the 2022 season. His team performed so bad under him that the Bucs weren’t really left with a debate to try in 2023. Would be different if we went 11-6 and were competitive
we were 8-9, with 3 magical wins by Brady (saints, rams, Arizona), a questionable call to save Atlanta win. Played shitty enough to be a 5-12 team with a team that was superbowl bound heading into season.
he will play the lovie smith role and campaign to be a defensive coordinator for some team in 2024. That is his ceiling. Head coaching career is over and it’s his fault among other factors that plagued 2022 season
a questionable call to save Atlanta win.
Exactly.
The egregious no-call on the DPI against Miller was horrendous.

I LOLed here
gotta admire your dedication to win a debate. Judging how the season played out, what do you put the odds at of Atlanta scoring if they get the ball back?
now if this was the 2021 Bucs, I’d put the odds low, but the can’t do anything write 2022 Bucs? Is it atleast a coin flip ?
I LOLed here
Not nearly as hard as I laughed when you claimed you "felt ashamed" of that particular win (or something to that effect).
gotta admire your dedication to win a debate
Appreciate it, sir.
Have to admit though, didn't really require dedication, and it wasn't really a debate...seeing that I was 100% right.
But, I digress...

No idea. And, don't really care.
We won the game and we were going to win regardless which penalty was called.
In terms of being ashamed, it was because it was one of their worst under Brady to that point. Little did we know that it would result in 3 consecutive losses and such an unenjoyable year. Took the life right out of us
guess we need to be grateful for 2020, 2021 seasons because I wasn’t even excited for 2022 playoff game. Always great to make playoffs, but we just sucked this year
