relax, very much tongue in cheek, but pick your winner.
Last year Brady's offense put up 3 points against the Panthers in Charlotte and then came back with 30 at home (the win contributing to the end of the interim coach lol)
So the GOAT averaged 17ish point last season against the Panthers
The current Panthers just fired Reich (proof the Glazers are not the worst lol) so does Mayfield's offense top 17 points?
Who wins the Battle of the Panthers?
Mayfield?
GOAT?
one report suggests Mayfield may not make it with his ankle
The early odds have the Bucs as a 6.5 point favorite over the Panthers.
Little surprising
team is very similar to last year
This year, we are averaging 19.3 points per game and given up 20.6 points
last year, we averaged 18.4 points per game and given up 21.1 points per game
last year, there were 3 games we lost where if we put up 21 points (Packers, Panthers, and Pittsburgh) we win the game. talking about being 11-6.
this year, so far, we lost 2 games where if we put up 21 points (Falcons, Detroit), we win the game. Talking about 6-5.
Bucs are favored but could see Panthers beating us in our own stadium (1) Todd Bowles lost locker room (2) Panthers sparking team with new head coach (3) Bryce Young will look like Peyton Manning against Bowles defense
This game could be a problem for the Bucs...
Head Coach undeservedly is fired the week before the game.
Interim Head Coach will unleash fire and brimstone to get his players fired up [pun intended].
Panthers players may feel wronged and may take out their discontent on the Bucs.
Another rookie QB, always a threat to make the Bucs pass defense look like ass.
Absolute must win game for Bowles and the Bucs to stay in contention for the division title in by far the worst division in the NFL.
...I'm concerned.
Absolute must win game for Bowles
That ship sailed awhile ago.
He's gone.
I tend to agree but let’s say somehow magically Bucs finish season 4-2 and finish season 8-9 and win division (all division wins)
I think in that scenario he saves his job with back to back playoff appearances
unlikely as I think 6,7 wins is more likely and in that case gone but if he does manage that, think ownership will be pressured to ride out a third year

agreed that that is his path and agreed that its very unlikely

Even in this unlikely scenario, I don’t think it’s enough.
I actually think the decision has already been made, regardless the team’s finish (and rightfully so).
It would be his 6th full season as a head coach with only one year having a winning record.
At least we all know the next two games are lock wins!!
Bucs better than those teams
:-)

Game 1
Brady - 32/49 for 290 YDS 0 TDS 0 INTS (the team scored 3 points)
Mayfield - 14/29 for 202 1 TD 1 INT (the team scored 21 points)
The difference is Mayfield's Bucs put up something like 130 yards rushing and two TDs on TWENTY PLUS ATTEMPTS. In the Bucs loss to the Panthers last year we ran for about 40 yards on something like 14 attempts
