Bucsnation has a good breakdown of the 3rd and 21 Tampa gave up. They state correctly that the saints ran two deep patterns (though I say 3) to put pressure on McDougald vs. our Tampa 2. They state our linebacker has decent coverage and McDougald chose to step towards the middle. I see it as the receiver being open vs our linebacker and McDougald had to cover that pattern. Don't know the defensive responsibility to know for certain. If someone does know who messed up, I'd love an answer. What I don't get is why we had nine men within six-seven yards of the line of scrimmage when we weren't going to blitz or jam the receivers on a 3rd and 21. Lay back, let them, throw it in front of you, and make the tackle. Looked to be the same defense we played on the play against Dallas when Bryant had a one on one with inside position going into the endzone with less than a minute left that we almost gave up. You'd think that would have been a clear sign not to run that scheme again in that situation.
