Melton was a step away from the sack, but unfortunately, our corners are giving a ridiculous amount of cushion and back peddles immediately. I guess we'll never know, but giving up that much cushion is ridiculous. Jenkins actually doesn't have awful coverage here, but Cousins makes a nice throw. Something I also noticed on this is that Banks is so late to reach on the cross move his receiver makes on him. Looks like McDougald had Reed if they were going to the fade again and expected Lavonte to cover up the slant. Unfortunately, Lavonte was switching up the defense and not in the initial spot he wanted to be at, so it looks like he was a step late. If he's in the right spot, that's a pick 6.The main problem I see here is giving too much cushion. Cousins made 1 really good throw the entire drive and everything else was an easy comeback route where our CB's gave too much cushion. This has to be fixed and is inexcusable. Byrd and Lovie needs to enforce on the DB's to stop giving so much damn cushion on receivers, so they can make a play on the ball or at least be right there when the catch is made.Also, please don't turn this into a Fire Lovie thread. We seriously already have enough of those. So, people like Freddy, Donkey and Chef who have flooded the boards with Fire Lovie stuff the past few days, please stay out of this if you aren't going to add anything different than what you've been saying in the other threads.
