Breaking Down DC Vernon Hargreaves III and DE Emmanuel OgbahNational Football PostPosted December 15, 2015Vernon Hargreaves Vernon Hargreaves III – DC – FloridaHargreaves is a third year junior who is highly rumored to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. In High school he was a highly recruited player who had offers from many of the best programs in the country. Had 31 total tackles and four interceptions this year. Has 10 career interceptions.Size –5’11’– 200 – 4.40 (all Estimates)Strong Points –Excellent size for a corner with good arm length. Has very good play speed and overall athleticism. Plays fast and is very explosive with very good jumping ability. Has a cockiness about him that says he can’t be beat. Has a fluid pedal and a quick turn and transitions very quickly. Will support run, has played some offense and has been used to return kicks. Excellent coverage skills and balls skills. Will support the run and can tackle.Weak Points –Will give too much cushion and be a bit lackadaisical at times.Summation –Hargreaves has been a starter since his true freshman year at Florida. Has all the traits needed to be a top cover corner in the NFL. Can play press man or zone equally well. Gets and keeps good position and plays the ball extremely well. Has excellent hands. Is very willing in run support, can take on blocks and is a sure tackler. He plays the game with a cocky attitude which is a good thing. Challenges receivers and looks to be having fun. He will be a very high pick and should come in and start right away for most winning NFL clubs.Emmanuel Ogbah – DE – Oklahoma StateOgbah is a fourth-year junior and a two-year starter. He has already said he plans to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. This year he finished the regular season with 61 total tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. He has 28 career sacks. Has lined up at both defensive end positions and at times will play form a 2-point stance.Size –6’4? – 275 – 4.80 (all estimates)Strong Points –Very productive two year starter. Has 28 career sacks. Shows some natural pass rush skills. Has good defensive end size and bulk with very long arms. Has the frame to carry 280+. Has good to very good overall athleticism and body control. Can change direction and stay on his feet. Knows how to use his hands and has multiple pass rush moves. Good read and react skills, finds the ball and makes plays. Good overall play versus the run. Good ability to shed. Will chase in pursuit.Weak Points –Flashes dominating ability but not consistent with it. Can get tall and slow off blocks. Has good not great speed.Summation –Ogbah looks to be a good fit to play down in a 4-3 scheme. May be able to play on his feet at the next level but that will be determined by workouts. He is a top college pass rusher and those traits should carry over to the next level. Has to be more consistent and disciplined in his play versus the run but he has the tools to be very good. Overall, he is not a finished product but he has the natural tools and upside to be very good. He is not as good as some of the edge players taken in the first round a year ago (Fowler, Ray, Beasley) because he lacks there speed, explosiveness and athleticism. He does play the run better than both Beasley and Ray.
