The next two teams, the Packers and Jaguars, are quality opponents but not unbeatable. If the Bucs go....
0-2 Bucs could still win the division at 8-9 by beating the Saints and Panthers. And so what. Bowles is still fired.Â
1-1 Bucs have a chance to win those last two and go 9-8 and make the playoffs. Firing Bowles won't be automatic. Licht is probably hoping for a reason to keep Bowles, and going 9-8 may be all he needs to justify keeping him to the Glazers. Â
2-0. This could lead to the Bucs having an opportunity to run the table with a six game win streak and go 10-7. Needless to say that totally changes the narrative on the season regardless of what happens in the playoffs. Â
So the fact is, like it or not, Bowles still has a clear path to keep his job. Just win.
Bucs should win all their NFC games. Â
That all but guarantees they control their destiny. The Packers look pretty mortal right now so the Bucs have a shot. Win against Green Bay and it knocks them out of the wild card potentially.
Â
The most unsettling part is that the Bucs control their own destiny. 🤣Â

Almost impossible to win 6 in a row in the NFL… unfortunatelyÂ
The Pack in Lambeau will be tough. I hear the forecast is for snow on Sunday morning...
These last two games were not impressive wins. But the questions is are the Bucs just a bad team who managed to eke out a couple wins against other bad teams, or are the Bucs finally starting to move in the right direction and be competitive against the decent teams? They just need to win one of the two games IMO, but they have to show that that they can beat a decent team and here is the perfect opportunity. They aren't facing the Niners in San Francisco or anything like that. So if you have a fair to good team you should be able to win one of those games. If they can't win one of those games, then beating the Saints and Panthers really wouldn't prove anything regardless of how the division standings shook out. Â

That's not a very difficult question to answer.

10-0 teamÂ

Both
Â
the Bucs are an incomplete team that is starting to settle into the balanced Canales offense but they are still no match for playoff-level NFL teams
a big reason they are no match is their defense, but most here are focused on the QB even as he is having a career year
Â
(the focus on mayfield is understandable because you can see the opportunity in the offense)Â
I don't think Mayfield pretends that he's a great QB. That's the good thing about him. I think the team realizes that Mayfield is just average, like some of the other guys on the team (to put it nicely) but that he wants to win. He's not just there for his own career. He legitimately is a team guy who other players will rally around even if he isn't one of the best QBs around.  So, in that respect he may be the most important player to Todd Bowles because he's the glue keeping this team from falling apart during that bad stretch, something perhaps Bowles isn't able to do himself. Â

Â
if Bucs make playoffs, Bowles is not getting fired. Â
if Bucs miss playoffs, depending on record.
if 7-10, would mean a 1-3 finish - he is likely getting fired
if 8-9, and just a matter of a team going 3-1 to win the division at 9-8; would say he has a shot to retain his job.
we are passionate about our Bucs but Bucs have already achieved the Vegas win odds with 4 games to go. No one expected much of a team the year after brady with starting a journeyman QB at a $4M contract. They make the playoffs, atrocious Bowles may actually be in the running for coach of the year
Â
by the way, i want Bowles gone too just saying Bucs fan view versus rest of NFL fan view are too different thingsÂ

Agreed on two different things
it seems like many Bucs fans view this team as still part SB team and seem to be in total denial about the defense.
Â
the substandard defensive play is one reason Bowles could still get fired even with the Bucs finishing strong
Â
Jordan love stinks he’s very inconsistent and gets flustered when he’s down on points but we need to continue to focus and understand down and distances and tendencies
Â
watch the play action and bench shaq/jts on pass rush downs they are not it shaq is a shell of his former self
We need to continue scoring points to keep pressure on love he makes mistakes when he feels urgency
We need to scheme up some man beaters and rub routes, packers have a good defense but if this team can start running the ball consistently well we may be on to something. Once Canales gets the run game going we can be as good as the browns, but what we need is consistency and focus from all our players the next 4weeks.
Â
We can’t get too high or too low and get to work this week. Christmas is coming up and we need to keep that workman attitude as we continue to prepare even during the holidays
