It isn't about shiny new toys- its about looking beyond this next year. Just for the sake of conversation say we trade him for 2 firsts and then turn his 16M into 3 new starters. Even if those 5 guys are only "B" type players the 5 of them together will improve the team more than 1 "A+" player will. No rational person is saying to give him away for peanuts. However, if a team is willing to give a nice package it could really help us moving forward.

I think we have the pieces to be a superbowl team. Why not keep one of the best if not the best corner in the game? Tampa can get 3 new starters while keeping Revis another 2-3 years. I believe when we have a franchise QB only then will Revis be worth trading. Allen, and Tillman would complete our defense until we groom replacements.

we have the pieces to be a playoff team, but Super Bowl? thats quite a stretch. i completely agree with sammichs logic. i really like revis, but i really like the idea of having 5 good players rather than one superstar player.
Wouldn't that blow a hole in the "great teams don't need a 16 million dollar corner to win" argument?
Broncos and Patriots were in the AFC Championship without Revis. But with Manning and Brady getting close to the end their window is closing and they might be willing to make a short sided move like trade for Revis.
