It was stupid when Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski was booted after only one season, but Cleveland's situation is getting dumber. The front office still hasn't found a replacement while other rebuilding teams, like the Texans, Skins, and Vikings, have hired new coaches. And now, while the Browns have Coach Vacant leading their team, other staff members are peacing out.Offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who did his best with the players available and was smart enough to realize what he had in Josh Gordon, ditched Cleveland after just one season, going to the Minnesota Vikings under new head coach Mike Zimmer. (It'll be fun to see what Turner does with young receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.) According to a report that came out after Chud was fired, Turner wasn't sure that the front office had a real plan in place. So, he eventually bounced. And today, defensive coordinator Ray Horton—who had a better group of talent on defense than Turner and delivered impressive results—left the Browns to be a defensive coordinator for new Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt. Horton particularly improved the secondary, which allowed just 221.1 passing yards per game, eighth-fewest in the league this season. It was a good first season under Horton, but now he's gone. Oh yeah, he's also taking the defensive backs coach with him.Sometimes, a new head coach will install his own coordinators, but Turner and Horton didn't wait for that to happen. With every other team in flux getting its s*** together, the pool of candidates has shrunk, and not just for head coach possibilities, but coordinators, too. Whatever the Browns' plan is, they better start making some moves—any moves—soon. http://deadspin.com/the-browns-have-essentially-no-coaching-staff-right-now-1505420687 That coaching search has now entered its 4th week. There is no coaching staff in place. Head coach is gone. Coordinators are gone. Other assistants aren't sticking around. Yet they've made it known they will trade up for Manziel?
So glad the Buccaneers have their Head Coach and Coordinators in place.
Jim Schwartz has to be thinking WTF.Poor Browns fans.
Maybe they spotted Schiano in the building...
Awe man. The cherry on top would be if they signed schiano.Their failure would be complete.
They need to just hire someone at this point , anyone , and stop the bleeding.
They need to get a college guy in there to coach Manziel if that is their plan. Man did they ever screw up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Norv Turner the OC is awesome. Just stay away from Norv Turner the HC.
The quality of that staff with Turner and Horton was crazy and the Browns are just letting that walk out the door. You would think if you fired a guyu after one season the backup plan would need to be in the bag. It obviously wasn't and they seem to have no idea what they really want.
What they really need to do is allow someone else to do their job as owners, who understand the game better.Seems like ownership is their main problem. And coming from a buc fan, that might mean something.

Since their ownership is a guy who is under federal in investigation for committing fraud at his chain of truck stops i doubt many folks would disagree with you.
That situation needs Greg Schiano.
What about Marty Schottenhiemer? I heard he's good for a definite playoff appearance.

It certainly deserves Greg Schiano.

he was the last successful coach there
