He got rid of the boat anchor as well as other players that were cancers in that locker room, you know the ones that layed down and quit in 2011.

Thankfully we finished with a better record than that awful 2011 team. Oh wait....

Thankfully we fired the babysitter after 2011 and hired a coach that had no problem disciplining players, recognized talent, valued structure, and had no problem cutting ties with the cancers that were in that locker room.  Now we have a desirable situation that a highly qualified coach wants and can work with.

Schiano started out 6-4. Then won 5 out of the next 22 he coached. Seems things were best as soon as he got the job.

This team needed Greg Schiano.

To make every other coach we've ever had or ever will have, seem better?

So Schiano did nothing . ..  didn't fix a thing . . .

I fail to see what Rutgers fixed.

Well said.

But the team on a ten game losing streak went 6-4 under Schiano?  makes sense . .  . ???  Things were "best as soon as he got the job"?  Team lost 10 in a row . .  .yeah, that makes sense tooThe guy was not a good coach but its funny watching you guys step all over yourselves

Why do you guys care?  Schiano is gone.  Why do you care if Cleveland gets him or not?  In fact shouldn't you be happy another team gets a bad coach?

Today must be your first day on the internet. Welcome!

Seriously, why do you care?

For starters, if he gets another job, we dont have to pay him.

Hello Joel or is it Brian?

Oh Im sorry, do you recall what happened the last time we were paying a coach not to coach?

Are they a laughing stock ? Because Schiano is the guy to fix laughing stocks.

Well he did fix this one.  Two years ago we couldn't hire a coach and this time around we hired one of the top choices in days.

I disagree. If Lovie had been available 2012, he would have come here. He's got history here. He said himself they still have a house here and consider Tampa home. If Lovie hadn't come here now, I'm not so sure we wouldn't be looking just as pitiful as the Lions and Browns. Between the Freeman debacle and the MSRA outbreak, along with Tynes wife, attacking the kneel down, fire Schiano billboards, hazmat teams cleaning the locker room after we visit, a coach that refers to himself in the 3rd person, and all the jokes from the national media....we were the laughing stock of the NFL for most of 2013. Combine all that with an 11-21 record...and I fail to see what Rutgers fixed.

He got rid of that boat anchor at QB... I'll give him props all of my life for that one.

He actually did many things, he wasn't a good coach, but JDub doesn't know anything other than to oversell his points. The team was an absolute mess at the end of the Morris era. Schiano cleared out a bunch of bad guys and then was here when we brought in Martin and David and Barron etc. When a GM failed to get a TE, it was a Schiano-player who stepped in. When Martin went down, another Schiano player played a role in the RB position. Another Schiano player was a WR when Williams went down etc. When a GM and Owner apparently refused to move on from Free, Schiano drafted a QB who won our only games for us this season. Schiano was not responsible for the "Freeman debacle," in fact he actually handled it with class. Schiano was not responsible for MRSA or hazmat teams. It is one thing to say Schiano was not a good NFL coach . .  its another to pin a bunch of nonsense on him

+1

Dude finished 5-17 and people wanna make excuses for him. He was worse than Rah. So so so happy he is gone.

Caldwell went 2-14 when he lost his star QB, yet he just got hired by the Lions. (Although some consider that a panic hire.) So they all eventually get another chance. Schiano will get another shot somewhere at some point if that's what he wants. You can attack Schiano for the on the field football failures. But Schiano had nothing to do with the MRSA crap or Freeman's ADD (or whatever the hell is wrong with his head) and Freeman missing team meetings and photos. And the media made up a bunch of crap from the leaking the drug stuff to rigging the captain vote. The media is just as much to blame for this past season as Schiano. And it was largely the local media reporting a bunch of unsubstantiated nonsense.

Schiano made some good player personnel moves while in Tampa.    He got rid of 4 guys I didn't want - Freeman, Talib, Blount, and Winslow. However, he screwed up royally not taking Kuechly over Barron.  That one move was so horrible that he deserves to never have a job again anywhere.

In Morris' last two years, the Bucs won 14 games. In Schiano's two years, the Bucs won 11 games.I challenge anybody to tell me Morris' rosters had anywhere near the talent that Schiano's did.Schiano did nothing.

Schiano was better than Morris.  If Schiano would have had that same 2010 that Morris had, he'd have gone to the playoffs.

People act like players quitting on a coach is such an epidemic. It happens all the time. It's not hard to fix. All you have to do is fire the coach and then the players start playing hard again. The Bucs could have hired Wade Phillips, Brad Childress, Mike Sherman, or any of the other geezers the Glazers were talking to and the players would have begun the 2012 season playing hard.
