Jason Licht said in an interview that he wanted to get 5 starters from this draft. I have been thinking that this is obviously not going to happen at the start of the year, but could we have 5 new starters by the end of the year? I have made the assumption that all players that Licht drafted in the last couple of years and are starters are going to remain starters. Those are Licht's players and he is trying to bring some stability in here. So, all of his drafted starters are safe. Positions I don't think we can upgrade in the draft. OffenseQB WinstonRB Martin and SimsTE ASJ and BrateLT SmithRG MarpetRT DotsonDefenseUT GMACCB Verner and BanksWLB LVDMLB AlexanderWhat do we need?OffenseLG - Whether Mankins retires or not, we are going to need a new LG. I personally think that Pamphile will win the job and this is a low priority. OC - I like Hawley, but he is not the long term solution. Hawley could fill that spot for a couple more years so this is also a low priority.RT - No matter where we draft a RT he won't beat out Dotson in a fair competition for the job, but unless they extend Dotson (no brainer in my book) we are going to need to address this position in the next couple years. Unknown priority.WR - This is a position that is in dire need of a new talent infusion IMO. Our No.2 is going into his final year, and our No.3 was out almost all year with a knee injury. We need to draft WR immediately in order for the player to be ready to step in when required even if we keep Murphy. This position has high importance. One year from now we could be needing a No.2 and No.3 WR. WR has a high priority. What do we need?DefenseDE - I like Gholston and Jaque Smith in a rotation mostly on the left side and I think we could use two more DE's for a rotation mostly on the right side. With the high importance on pass rush in the NFL I am going to say that this position has a high need for one or two players to be drafted with high importance. DT - We have GMAC at the UT but outside of that, we are not sure. MacDonald was injured and we don't know how he is going to recover. This position needs to be addressed but is not extremely high importance. SLB - I like Lansanah, and I think he would be a really good 4th LB, but it is obvious we don't even have anywhere near the kind of talent that we need there to compete in pur division. Carolina is far better off at LB and the division title goes through Carolina right now. IMO LB is a position that is relatively high importance.S - I am sure our safeties will be much better in a new system, but I have seen nothing to suggest that we have either position wrapped up. This position IMO has very high importance. CB - There is an old saying that you can never have enough good corners. This is true. I like both of our corners but we could us more young talent at the position. Important, but not an extremely high priority. Ideally you would like to see the positions that you have the highest needs at be addressed in the draft. But, as we all know it doesn't always work out that way. Most NFL teams will draft a better player over a player at position of need. Luckily for us Buccaneer fans we have plenty of needs. According to my evaluation the Bucs have the highest need at these positions.1- DE2- WR3- LB4- S5- DT6- OL7- CBCan we get 5 starters out of those positions?
