I'm so glad the Bucs were there to step in and help that poor, helpless team...
The Patriots.
We had too many picks already, because we had traded for two extra 2nd rounders. We are not a rebuilding team, so we can't stock up on too many rookies. And yet, when Poor Bill came calling, Kind Mr. Licht couldn't resist helping him in his time of need.
So we traded down for no reason, just to pick up an extra pick. Sure its nice to have that extra player, but now we have too many rookies and no room at the inn for all of them. The other option that is not mentioned is that Licht could have stood pat and presumably have drafted a better player. That's what he should have done.
But then Poor Bill came along and who can resist that sad face? Now we have too many rookies, but perhaps we can give one away to another needy guy like the Young John Gruden who is getting bad draft grades. Lets help him and give the Raiders one of our picks. We have too many, so lets do the right thing!
