Since 2007 there have only been two years the NFC South hasn’t sent two teams to the playoffs. That isn’t the case of just a dominant team or two either, as no team has won the division in consecutive seasons. In fact, each team in the division has won the division at least once since then, and this season all four teams have reason to believe they can win the division. But while the teams have been some of the most competitive in the league, their secondary market ticket prices have been below average. The secondary market average for the four teams in the NFC South is $205.44, while the average NFL ticket price is at $224.28. Carolina Panthers | Avg. Price: $259.92 Last season the division winner was the Carolina Panthers. They even received a first-round bye with a 12-4 record. But none of that helps them too much this season, with no NFC South division winner ever repeating since the division’s inception in 2002. It doesn’t help that they lost some key players including cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, and receiver Steve Smith. But fans are still riding high after the team overcame their 1-3 start last year. Home games on the Carolina Panthers schedule have the highest average in the division at $259.92. New Orleans Saints | Avg. Price: $258.96 Just a bit behind them are the New Orleans Saints. Home games on the Saints schedule are averaging under than a dollar less than the Panthers at $258.96. They almost won the division last season, holding the top spot for most of the year before going 2-3 in the final five games of the season. But the Saints added the top safety on the market in Jarius Byrd, and drafted Brandin Cooks out of Oregon State to make them the current favorite to win the division. Atlanta Falcons | Avg. Price: $156.29 The Falcons won the division in 2012, taking home field advantage in the NFC and making it to the NFC Championship game. But the Falcons are a top-heavy team, and too many injuries to their stars dropped them to one of the worst teams in the league last season. This season the team hopes things are different after adding talent to both their offensive and defensive line. A return of injured stars could allow the Falcons to return to the class of the division. Home games on the Falcons schedule have a secondary market average price of $156.29 for the season. Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Avg. Price: $146.60 At the bottom of the division is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have made the postseason the least of anyone in the division, but with the hiring of Lovie Smith as head coach, they may be in line for the biggest turnaround. The team was a legitimate playoff hopeful at the beginning of the year, but underwhelmed. They have the talent on the defensive end to run Smith’s Cover 2 scheme, the same system that made the Chicago Bears one of the best defensive teams in the league. They also have arguably the best wide receiver tandem after drafting the 6’5 Mike Evans with their first pick to team with Vincent Jackson.
