Running backwards Diagonally means he can't step into his throw and has a high probability of ending badly. It also means he is making the pass rushers job easier and the OTs job harder. He should step up into the pocket or move parallel to the Los. You are showing your ignorance.
He ran diagonally to avoid the pass rusher. If you want him to step up in the pocket that is another thing. It is also a basic technique taught to qbs at a pretty young age. The coaching staff shouldn't have to teach him that and I highly doubt they are teaching him to run diagonally away from the line of scrimmage. You're ignorance and bias is well known around this board. Carry onP.S. The pressure on that play was coming from the inside. That is why he rolled to the left and was pursued by Quinn.
