There was a considerable amount of dead cap shaved between this year and next, but still sitting with 30mil in dead cap between Barrett, Jensen, and Carmada..
That $30M isn’t including the new $23M in dead money from Godwin, Gaines, and Nelson.

This is true....Overthecap shows it but doesn't list it as dead cap hits yet....I'm curious if the reason it was listed for the others but not those 3 is that the others were no longer with the team in any capacity at the time (Jensen retired, Shaq signing with the dolphins before retiring, and Carmada cut outright)...I feel like all 3 you mentioned will likely be re-signed ultimately pushing that dead cap (void years) down the road into future years.

Down to resign everyone but Gaines. He was useless... Unless it's a vet min

The contract Gaines signed was effectively a 2 year 3.5 mil deal with 2 mil gtd....his dead cap this year is 1.4 mil....the league minimum for a player with 7 years experience is 1.2 mil so if we could extend Gaines on a similar deal then his dead cap # could be pushed into next year where the only current dead cap is Evans 13 million (unless he's extended this offseason to free up cap space) hate kicking the can down the road but at least the numbers are manageable.

Disagree. I think Gaines did perfectly fine for what he was signed here to do. He's not a world-beater, but he a competent back-up NFL interior defensive lineman.
30M of dead cap space isn't bad and much better than where we were the first 2 years post Tom Brady
2024 - 62.5M
2023 - 81.6M
2022 - 25.5M
2021 - 11M
2020 - 8M
2019 - 11M
2018-11M
to me, this frees up alot of flexibility to afford a premier edge rusher and to make some moves in free agency
in 2023, our biggest move was a 1 year 4M deal for Baker. in 2024, we brought back our guys but the biggest outside move was Whitehead and Brederson.
if we want to compete with the likes of the Lions, Eagles, and 49ers; we need to bulk up the defense

Agreed but as I mentioned there's currently about 11.2 million in cap space after incentive bonus' were paid...some moves will have to be made ie restructures and extensions to have the money to be able to go after any big fish or several smaller fish in FA.

He graded pretty poorly on PFF and I didn't see him do much.
But take that with a grain of salt... Depth is depth
Kacy Rodgers explains that football is simple
"“The way Washington attacked us, if you really look at the last three teams kind of did the same kind of game plan,” Rodgers told the Buccaneers Radio Network. “It was short passing game, run it, keep third down very manageable — 3rd-and-3 is really hard to stop in the National Football League because so many aspects [so many ways to attack it]. This past team (Washington), they had the aspect of not only running, but the quarterback running. So you had to keep him in the pocket where you’re kind of outnumbered. If you blitz him, you leave a bad matchup. It’s just, mobile quarterbacks pose a lot of problems.”
And exactly why Washington was always going to be a problem for this Bucs team
