For those of you that where around 5 years ago you remember me doing this. Well this will be my one and only Mock Draft. I'll try to keep it as realistic as possible.
With the signing of Tom Brady it’s imperative that the Bucs shore up the OL with a look at the future. The Bucs must also add a RB that can double as a receiving threat out of the backfield. I still feel the Bucs will sign another free agent RB. The top remaining RBs available (Miller, Hyde, Freeman, Thompson and McCoy) are all probably asking too much $$. Perhaps Isaiah Crowell, a former NY Jet, could be lured to sign and compete with Ronald Jones.
Here Goes:
1st Round (Trade with Arizona) Bucs send 4th round pick 2020 (pick 161) and 2021 2nd round to Arizona for Arizona’s 8th Overall selection and their 2020 7th round (pick 222)
Bucs Select- OT- Tristan Wirfs- Iowa- 6’5” 320lbs- If all goes well in camp Wirfs is the immediate RT for 2020 and replaces Donovan Smith at LT in 2021.
2nd Round- CB- AJ Terrell- Clemson- 6’1” 195lbs- Many may think this isn’t a position of need. New Orleans has been overloading at WR and the Bucs are going to need more secondary helps to combat that. The early run on QB, OL and WR will push some defenders to the 2nd round. Terrell is ranked as the 4th ot 5th Cornerback on most boards. He should be on the board at pick 45.
3rd round- RB- Cam Akers- Florida State- 5’10” 217lbs- I would love for Clyde Edwards-Helaire to fall to the 3rd round but I just don’t see it. Cam Akers isn’t that far behind CEH in production though.
4th Round- Compensatory Pick- Edge/LB- Kenny Willekes- Michigan State- 6’4” 270lbs- Willekes would be used for additional depth along the DL. He played LB in High School. He could back up Shaq or Gholston and both DE positions. He’s a Carl Nassib type player.
5th Round- DT- Raequan Williams- Michigan State- 6’4” 308-lbs The more I looked at Kenny Willekes the more I saw a space eater in Raequan Williams. He’s a bit raw in technique but what better way to learn behind Vea and Suh.
6th Round- WR- Quez Watkins- 6’0” 185lbs- Southern Miss- Speed depth at WR is needed. With a good camp he could push Scotty Miller (suspect hands) for that spot.
7th Round- S- Jordan Fuller- Ohio Sate- 6’2” 205lbs- Fuller is a good solid Safety that adds depth. At worst he develops from a practice squad player and puses for a back up position in 2021. At the best he's a backup in 2020 and pushing for a starters spot in 2021.
Fire away…..GO BUCS- LET'S GO.
