I love that you all think Vikings is a guaranteed loss lolz...

They were so overrated last year. We have corners that match up well. Our run defense should regress back to dominance...

I'm calling a week 1 victory... not scared one bit of any team on the schedule.

I'm not crazy confident in our team tho...but even the Bills and Eagles are beatable.

Niners is probably a lock for a blowout

I mean I’m basing it off of last year. We were 8-9 but seconds away from being 5-12 (Arizona, saints, rams) comebacks. This mind you was with Brady. Arguably have similar talented team to last year so really depends….even if Baker has a career year (which would match washed up Brady numbers last year), that would equal 5-8 wins

I think this is a great schedule for this team.  If the defense is a top 7 unit and our Oline gels so that we can run the ball we will make the playoffs with a 10-7 record.  All Trask/ Baker need to do is hand the ball off and hit a few deep balls per game.

I'll tell you which team has a great schedule. The Saints. And they have a new more than capable QB in Carr. They will win the division. Any playoff hopes for the Bucs will be in the Wild Card round.

Saints have one of the easiest schedules in the league

If Baker shows us the Baker he is capable of (with Nick Chubb/Kareem Hunt mind you), then yes we have a shot at the playoffs.  This is a Baker that threw for over 20 touchdowns twice in his career.

but if he ends up being closer to the guy that's been on 4 teams in 1 year, then yeah this is a 5 win team most likely.

that's a tough first 6-7 weeks and i could see the Bucs tanking and going to Trask if we are 1-6 at that point just to see what he has.

The Saints, seem to be the most clear favorite to me, because they have the best QB, albeit not the greatest.  But for example, if the Bucs signed Carr...there's no doubt we'd be the favorite to win the division.

when you look around the league, typically the team with the best QB wins the division - Bengals, Chiefs, Bills, Jaguars.  Looks to ring true in the AFC.  In the NFC - Bucs, 49ers, Eagles, and Vikings - wasn't true for the NFC North and the NFC West was a cluster of a season!

Think Carolina takes it pretty easily. They were a 21 point Brady 4th qtr away from winning it last year.

possibly.

the vegas win/loss is set at

Tampa Bay 6.5

Atlanta/Carolina 7.5

New Orleans 9.5

All three teams were 7-10 last year.  The Saints manage to lose to us twice.

and hard to go by last year "success" to judge this year.

would say most consider Saints odds on favorite.

All this gloom and doom while hyping up the rest of the nfc south makes zero sense.

You really think Derek Carr is that much better than Baker Mayfield.

Carolina has a rookie qb who is under 6 ft tall.

Falcons have a horrendous qb.

We should have the best defense in the division.

We have arguably the best line...

We have the best WRs...

Locking us in for last when the rest of the division is equally bad? Laughable...

It's all a coin flip

Agree totally.  How did Derek Carr become so great all of a sudden, after he couldn't even score a long term deal with the Raiders?  Sure he's a QB, but he isn't Aaron Rodgers.  There are no clearcut favorites in this division.  They want to find a favorite, so they do.  It's what they do.  They put them in a nice neat order, but they don't really know anything.

Just about everyone in the NFL does.

The Raiders signed Carr to two long-term contract extensions, including a 3-year, $121.5M contract extension in April 2022.

It was a coin flip last year with Tom Brady. Let that sink in and think about it.

Hmm.  He's not in Las Vegas.   So for your argument you are using a contract that Carr is not getting.   Carr was cut loose from the Raiders because they didn't want to pay him.  The Bucs don't have him because they didn't want to pay him.  I like Carr and wish the Bucs could have gotten him instead of Mayfield.  But he's not Aaron Rodgers.  He's not Mahomes, Burrow, or Allen.   He's not in the top tier of QBs.

So for your argument you are using a contract that Carr is not getting.

I’m using facts to show you post inaccurate information, as Carr “scored” two $120M+ contracts with the Raiders and a third with the Saints.

No shit. Who said he was?

What is being discussed is that he’s currently the best QB in the division, which is why most folks are picking the Saints to win the division. It’s not very controversial.

The Raiders chose not to pay the rest of his contract or try to rework it this year.  That's what I was referring to. Let me clarify my statement that "he's not that great." What I meant was "He's not that great."  He's not a great quarterback.  If it was Aaron Rodgers moving into the NFC South then yes it would be time to panic.  But Carr is not Rodgers, nor is he Drew Brees.   Carr has a career W-L record of 63-79.  So because he's the best QB in the NFC South is not really saying much, frankly.
