The Raiders chose not to pay the rest of his contract or try to rework it this year. That's what I was referring to.
lolz
So because he's the best QB in the NFC South is not really saying much, frankly.
It's saying he's the best QB in the division right now and, largely because of that, most pundits are logically picking the Saints to win the Division. Go look at all of the other division winners that are being projected. Most of them have the best QB in their division. This isn't difficult to comprehend, Professor.
The Saints also have a very favorable schedule. Second easiest.
Re the Draft Kings 1 win prediction for the Bucs, LOL. 6.5 O/U is right on the money, looking at the schedule I see 6-7 wins.
That's why the pundits focus on it. They need a quick and simple way of looking at it.The Raiders chose not to pay the rest of his contract or try to rework it this year. That's what I was referring to.

Quick/simple, and fairly accurate. Let's take a look at last year's division winner's and the corresponding best QB:
AFCE Best QB - Josh Allen
AFCE Winner - Buffalo Bills
AFCN Best QB - Joe Burrow
AFCN Winner - Cincinnati Bengals
AFCS Best QB - Trevor Lawrence
AFCS Winner - Jacksonville Jaguars
AFCW Best QB - Patrick Mahomes
AFCW Winner - Kansas City Chiefs
NFCE Best QB - Jalen Hurts
NFCE Winner - Philadelphia Eagles
NFCN Best QB - Aaron Rodgers (although Cousins had the better statistical season)
NFCN Winner - Minnesota Vikings
NFCS Best QB - Tom Brady
NFCS Winner - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFCW Best QB - Geno Smith
NFCW Winner - San Francisco 49ers
That's 6/8 divisions that were won by the team with the best QB, Professor. Quite the coincidence, I'm sure.
Carr isn't Allen, Burrow, Lawrence, Mahomes or Hurts. He has a lifetime record of 63 - 79. That's what your argument is lacking there - common sense.

Again, no shit. And again - who said he was?
He has a lifetime record of 63 - 79
Sweet. Now do Desmond Ritter, Bryce Young, and Trask/Mayfield.
I'm not sure why this is so difficult for you to comprehend, Professor.

lolz, that's precious. My argument, which you've agreed with, is that Carr is the best QB in the division and that's why his team is favored to win the division. Meanwhile, you're spouting off inaccurate nonsense about Carr not "scoring" a long-term deal with the Raiders - something he "scored" twice with two different $120M+ contracts with the Raiders. These aren't opinions I'm offering, and they surely aren't inferior, factually inaccurate opinions like yours. These are facts.
You've been thoroughly whipped, Professor. The only one who doesn't realize it is you.
Carr is the best QB in the division as best we can tell right now, but that doesn't make the Saints the best team in the division. If you put Mahomes or Allen or Hurts on the Saints or any other team in the division, then that would make them the better team. Those QBs are at another level than Carr. But since Carr is not at that level, then you can't automatically make that connection that because Carr is there they are the best team. Just having the best QB doesn't make you the best team. Using your examples, take Geno Smith. He's pretty good, better than the rest of the division's QBs, but he's not good enough that you can say just having him at QB makes Seattle the favorite to win the division. Carr is the same way. You have to look at the teams as a whole. If you can't tell the difference between the teams, then having Carr isn't enough to tip the scales and pull the Saints out of the pack and put them on top, not in my opinion.

You pretty clearly aren't capable of grasping what is being discussed. But nonetheless, I'll clue you in on something else that is sure to mystify you. The Saints don't just have the best QB in the division currently, they also have the best defense in the division with a better overall defensive ranking and scoring defense in 2022 than Tampa Bay. Derek Carr isn't he only reason the Saints are (rightly) favored to win the division.
Manufacture more strawmen and continue wallowing in your ignorance.
Carr is a top 20 QB
agreed. nothing special
Bucs, Panthers, and Saints have bottom 5 QBs at this stage of the game.
The Saints have an easier schedule than the Bucs. Carr is better than Mayfield or Trask. The Saints defense is equal to or better than the Bucs defense. I would prefer that the Bucs have a great season and win the division again. But realistically, the Saints are the favorites, and there's no denying that.

Sure if you think the Saints are a better team, then Carr will solidify that for you. I don't think they are clearly better or they would have been better last year. They had Dalton and went 7-10. Dalton was the 21st rated QB by the ESPN rating system. So you add Carr who is "top 20." Sure it's an upgrade, but not like the Jets adding Aaron Rodgers. Lets put it like this - Dalton wasn't the reason the Saints were 7-10. They still have the same head coach who is every bit as much on the hotseat as the Bucs HC. So I suppose if you want to pick somebody to win the division you can pick the Saints. That's fine. But you can pick any team in this division and come up with some reasons for it.Carr is the best QB in the division as best we can tell right now, but that doesn't make the Saints the best team in the division. Oh by no means are we saying it’s a lock. I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the 4 take it but if being non biased and making an educated guess, need to go with the saints
Many could argue the Saints, Panthers and falcons all got better
they were 7-10
nobody except for a few delusional fans on here would argue the Bucs got better. Losing a bad coach, sure, but you are significantly underrating just how hard it will be for mayfield or trask to match Brady’s lousy numbers last year
Bucs are the only team that for worse. Would argue the falcons didn’t change and both panthers and saints got better with panthers having an unknown rookie QB
Who's talking about the pundits? I'm certainly not... I was referring to the gloom and doom of this board.
Derek Carr is in fact the tallest midget. But he isn't THAT much better than Baker. He's better, but Carr is a tier 3 qb. Baker is tier 4.
The division is a toss up.
And aside from QB play, we have arguably the best defense (maybe Saints but their stars are getting old), best WRs and it isn't close, and arguably the best offensive line.
I can understand why PUNDITS think Saints are winning it but I can't for the life of me understand what this board thinks we can't compete is a shit division with a new offensive coordinator.
Brady's lack of mobility was a problem that was compounded by Lefty.
Both of those problems have been addressed.
We can win this division... it's doable.

Who has said the Bucs can't compete? This is another strawman.
This has been a simple argument as to why it makes sense for the Saints to be favored to win the division, which they are. That doesn't mean they will win the division, but them being favored to win the division in May is a logical conclusion to come to for anybody that is paying attention.
