Dave Kennedy spent the last 6 years as strength and conditioning coach. If anyone on that team knows Manziel's workout ethic...I would think it would be him. I love the idea that we have someone on the staff that was around Manziel. He may not know Xs and Os but he'll know how often he was in the gym etc.I am not saying it means the Bucs will draft Manziel...but they will have a slight edge on knowing more who Manziel truly is. I don't think Manziel lasts till 7...but if he's there, I hope we grab him.

I saw some mocks that had Manziel in the middle of the first round and a few that were in the bottom of the top 10. All of those mocks also had Mariota as the 2nd QB in the draft. The 3rd QB was either Carr, Boyd or Manziel. A lot has changed since then. Mariota decided to stay in school and Carr and especially Boyd slipped. Also, teams needing QBs are now much higher in the draft order. 5 to 6 games into the season, Cleveland was .500 and the ended up losing out. Same goes for Houston...people thought they'd be a playoff team. A lot of the QB needy teams were in the 10-15 area of the early mocks...only the Bucs and Jags were at the top and everyone said Mariota and Bridgewater were going to be picked by us.The fact that Manziel has moved up to the top 10 is more due to multiple QB needy teams now being there and Mariota staying in school. Manziel has always been mentioned as a 1st rounder for the most part. Bortles is the one guy that has come out of nowhere and shot up draft boards. I'd be more worried about him than Manziel. I don't think any NFL team will be worried about Manziel moving up a bit and I still worry he may be gone by the time we pick.

I have a bad feeling Sparano is using the Bucs as leverage to get his two year contract in Oakland. I hope I'm wrong, but I find it strange that every report references the same San Francisco Chronicle article. I haven't seen any other confirming reports.
I said this in another thread, but the Raiders coaches that didn't agree to an extension (like Sparano) still have a few days left on their contracts. I'd guess they're waiting for it to run out before they hire him and announce it.
