No matter where we pick round 1 would any spot on defense upset anyone?

we could use dl, lb, secondary.

totally down for BPA.

edge would be nice sure but if we can get an above average starter anywhere they’ll help.

draft is such a crap shoot tho no matter where you draft.

Winfield injury is 100% on Bowles tho.

Dean is made of glass so no surprise there.

The rest are bad luck.

is the Godwin injury on Bowles as well?

a coach trying to win a game, the audacity!

So then CMC injury is 100% on Kyle Shanahan? No way he should be playing in the icy conditions?

I definitely get the criticism of Bowles defensive unit and his choices (aggressive v conservative) during the game, but the injury stuff is a little silly, in part because its so inconsistent.

What did Bowles do to cause AWJ's injury?

Guess he didn’t get the memo when we played KC and San Fran.

Yeah. Really silly.

I’m sure Baker loved not having Evans or Godwin to throw to against KC, San Fran, or Atlanta in a must win; thanks to your boy’s total incompetence.

Guess we need to be up “50-0 going into the 4th quarter” for the dumbass to consider pulling his best players.

Your boy trotting out our best defender on the hands team with a minute to play in a 3-score game where the Commanders had less than a .001% to win the game.

Meanwhile, in SR's world

"Bucs head coach Todd Bowles does deserve a lot of credit for having to deal with the myriad of injuries the defense has had to deal with this year. It’s actually been ridiculous, especially in the secondary. Every single starter except for Zyon McCollum has missed at least two games due to injury so far. The safety position has been ravaged with injuries as Antoine Winfield Jr. missed four games with a foot injury and now has an injured knee. Jordan Whitehead is on injured reserve with a pectoral injury, and his replacement, Mike Edwards, is out with a hamstring injury.

As it stands right now, Christian Izien and Kaevon Merriweather will start at Los Angeles against the Chargers next week with practice squad safety Ryan Neal likely getting elevated as a reserve. Thankfully Tykee Smith was able to return on Sunday against Las Vegas after missing the last three games with a knee injury.

When healthy – or at least healthier – Tampa Bay’s defense has played a big role in helping the team beat the likes of Washington, Detroit and Philadelphia. Each of those teams are in the Top 8 in scoring and average at least 26 points per game. The Commanders were held to 20 points, the Lions scored just 16 against the Bucs, and Bowles’ unit held the Eagles to just 14 of the 16 points that Philly scored.

Despite being without Whitehead, Edwards, linebackers K.J. Britt and J.J. Russell and outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka on Sunday, and Winfield for a majority of the game, Bowles’ defense held the Raiders to just 13 points. That’s quite a feat using reserve players and some duct tape to get the job done."

(as an aside, man Tykee Smith seems to be a good pick)

"After the Bucs win yesterday, Baker Mayfield’s original NFL offensive coordinator, Todd Haley, talked on SiriusXM NFL Radio about being proud of Mayfield’s high points with the Bucs week in and week out while acknowledging Mayfield has to clean up his turnovers.

Then Haley, a Todd Bowles fan wh was on the same NFL coaching staff as Bowles years ago, noted that while the Bucs play hard for Bowles, “They don’t have a large margin for error from a talent standpoint."

Bowles also single handedly lost both games to Atlanta.

His defense is at it's worst when it matters most... Injuries or no injuries.

He's a defensive head coach. He brings nothing offensively and nothing in coaching/clock managment.

So he damn well better beat the fuck outta these teams down the stretch even with the injuries.

Side note: what an awful year for Winfield. Play, injuries, production... Across the board he got paid then laid an egg.

Paying for a safety comes with some risk

Not sure I put those on Bowles but I think those losses kind of sealed the Bucs’ fate.

Hope to be wrong

also agree on Winfield

Look at Kirk Cousin in any other game. He roasted Bowles in both. You can throw the Chiefs game in there too but I'm more willing to give him a break on that one.
