Currently Bucs have 2.2 mil to work with. Not much. Cutting dean frees about 8 mil White 3.3 mil. Tucker #2? Resctructure awj, wirfs, maybe 20ish mil? trading for an edge isn't realistic atm unfortunately. Could be worse, saints are something like 60 mil over the cap lol. Good luck Kellen Moore.
How much cap room did they have at this time last offseason - an offseason where the team gave out over $400M in contracts?

What was the breakdown EXISTING/OUTSIDE player and will that ratio be roughly the same this year?
is swapping JTS 2024 contract for Myles Garrett same relative impact as extending Godwin?
maybe, but you’d need that data to actually compare

Yep.
Cap is up anywhere from $20-$25M this upcoming season.
Handful of contracts are ripe for restructuring.
Just comes down to how much the Glazers want to spend in cash.

Cutting Dean actually frees up 12.8 mil,re-signing Godwin actually saves about 11 mil in dead cap hit on this years cap. We’ll have cap space once FA rolls around. M1k3 likely extended, Wirfs restructured, AWJ possibly also, Goedeke, and Otten extended. There’s lots of moves that can be made with re-structures, extension if Licht chooses. Should make for an interesting offseason for sure
Am I the only one that thinks “cutting Dean” isn’t a solution to saving money? He’s under contract and penciled in as our starter. If we cut him, then we obviously have to sign a FA replacement for him. It’s the definition of spinning your wheels financially. Now if we’re looking to swap out for someone different or better; that’s cool but don’t act like it’s saving us money.
Which FA would we sign to replace him and how much more/less would they count against the cap compared to Dean?
@rhbucsfan as SR pointed out in the fab 5 yesterday, they could sign Rasul Douglas and Nate Hobbs for about the combined salary the dean is making..they could also take the savings cutting Dean and put it toward signing Ward from SF, plus likely investing a relatively early pick in the draft at CB

Would much rather invest our earlier picks into EDGE, DL, ILB, and OG.
Under a different DC/Scheme, take a CB early. But, not this one.

I tend to agree with you....obviously I want the team to let the draft come to them, but depending on what's available I don't want a reach at a position of need when a superior player at another position is available. I will say Licht is good about filling perceived needs in FA so that he has the flexibility to typically take BPA. I'd rather a bookend OLB to go along with YaYa, but depending on how the draft shakes up if a good M2M CB is available in the 2nd round I'm not going to complain. I know people will say you grab a solid zone corner later in the draft, but it's easier to teach a m2m corner to play zone than it is the other way around and the good m2m corners tend to come off the board earlier rather than later.
As TKraz pointed out, Carlton Davis had a replacement waiting in the wings. There is no such replacement waiting to replace Dean. Even a rookie high draft pick will have to learn the ropes for a year. It's certainly not a foregone conclusion that they cut him loose. They may keep Dean another year and draft his replacement like they did with McCollum.Am I the only one that thinks “cutting Dean” isn’t a solution to saving money?
Agreed.
it's easier to teach a m2m corner to play zone
Bowles has made this point. SR too.
Interested to see it play out.

But as noted, not worth the draft capital

we will see.
they played man against a lot of top receivers and Bowles has changed things up every couple years anyway
