Bucs defensive drive outcomes:
1st drive: Seahawks moved into field goal range but missed a makeable kick.
2nd drive: A promising drive ended when the Seahawks got cute, bringing in their backup quarterback for an option play that resulted in an unforced fumble.
3rd drive: Touchdown right before halftime.
4th drive: Touchdown on the opening drive of the second half.
5th drive: Touchdown.
6th drive: Touchdown.
7th drive: Touchdown.
8th drive: Interception that led to the Bucs win.
Thats about as bad as it gets.
Yeah but Bowles saved his one and only blitz for late knowing the ball would get thrown off a helmet.
Genius
Was defense worst performance but those 2 turnovers were huge
Clearly this team rides and dies by the offense but the defense has atleast kept it close to give the offense a chance to win
even against eagles, gave up just 17 points as special teams and offense gifted 14 to the eagles
to me the difference with the improvement has been the depth in the secondary
but as you saw Sunday with no dean or Morrison, not as strong
can be even worse this week if zyon is out and dean doesn’t return. Expect another shootout

Agreed. Our defense is allowed to get turnovers, and it was nice to see a couple of them to help get the win.

lmao
That off the helmet throw = Bowles super competent at drafting tall interior rushers
Rough defensive performance reminiscent of 2024 defense. Sort of the OT loss to the Falcons . . . but a win

yeah exactly. this year has been different so far
let downs in games we should have won - i.e. Denver, Dallas in 2024, Jets in 2025;
Prime time toss up games we lose i.e. Atlanta, Dallas, Houston in 2025;
Being without top weapons on offense 0-4 stretch last year; 4-1 so far this year
defense collapse last year in Atlanta games, Baltimore, etc versus Seattle this year
Tough place to travel to after a brutal game against the Eagles.
versus Seattle this year
and to be fair the start of the game and maybe the first half is a little different than the OP. The Seahawks miss a roughly 50 yard field goal, I thought? I havent looked back but I recall that Hall forced a holding penalty to push them back. Whatever one thinks of Hall, he completely beats the G he is against, as I recall. I think they throw a pass on Vildor to get some of it back, but that first drive is a stop even if they get three.
I also thought there was maybe a punt in there? I recall we stopped them and then our offense did nothing but from near our goal line so that one of their TDs begins somewhere near midfield maybe?
Team Sport.
Offense is A+ in my book.
Special Teams a D.
Defense a D-, but only not an F because we ultimately won and on a defensive play and they had several big ST returns that put the defense under it.
The big thing for the defense will be how do they handle this next game? Not sure people picked up on it given all the Bowles angst, but SR mentioned it and then Bowles basically confirmed (thought that was odd to come out and say it) that their defensive adjustment to injured CBs was to play off, less pressure. Like last year.
Surely the 49ers see that on tape and heard Bowles say as much, so thats why I wondered in the other thread about seeing a heavy dose of McCafferty in the passing game. That and our weak ILB play.
Does Bowles MIX IT UP and bring the heavy blitz back?

You keep saying Bowles but you mean Licht
Do you agree with Bowles' strategy of not blitzing all game against a QB that struggles with pressure?
He seems to think that works against Stafford.
