The Buccaneers give up the 1st overall pick for the Eagles 2015, 2016 1st round picks, 2015 2nd round pick and Nick Foles.The reasoning is that Winston has carachter issues and Mariotta doesnt fit a pro style offense. My view is that picking up a proven young NFL QB like Foles is a better option than drafting a rookie QB no.1 overall with serious question marks.Winston has put up mediocre numbers all year. I have him as the highest rated QB with NFL skills :-Xbut he is not dominating the competition the way you would expect for a player with his skill set. With his attitude I am having Vince Young flashbacks. Despite having a great NFL skill set he is way too big of a gamble to use the no.1 overall pick on IMO.Mariotta is by leaps and bounds the best college football player at the QB position, but his skill set does not translate to an NFL offense whatsoever. NFL defenses will stack the box and take away the short stuff, and force him to throw to his second and third reads....something he very rarely does.He is too much of a scrambler and does not wait in the pocket long enough for routes to develop, which is typical for a running QB. You cant just plug him into an NFL offense but the Bucs could hire an OC from the college ranks and install an option offense. Another gamble that is much too big.We are talking about the no.1 overall pick here.......what the Bucs do with this pick will dictate the next 5 years of this franchise. I hope they dont gamble this pick...and the future of the franchise away.
