Very misleading article.

was reading all day “freed up an additional 17.5 mil”

If only. His contract was always structured that way.

No additional monies, sadly.

It's just an honorary restructure because he's the Restructure King.  They restructured the contract before they even structured it.

this is surprise indeed, especially 13 mil dead cap in 2026

looking how most of our contracts are structured I was under impression we were going for playoffs for two more years with hard reset rightafter! moving 13 mil into 2026 doesn't make any sense without giving Mike one year contract for 2026. OK, he should be Buc as long as he wants it, and as long as he can perform as well (same applies to Lavonte) but two years contract did perfectly fit into that two years plan .... and then out of nowhere they reworked it!

no clue what the plan is. we can't win superbowl with this team, playoffs are premium and until this week I thought that was clear to everyone, not so sure about it anymore

Not sure how M1K3 13 mil dead cap in 2026 means we're going to do a hard reset at that point.  There was a 14.5 mil dead cap charge that was just taken back in February for Evans so as to not push that money further down the road.  I know a lot can happen between now and then, but there's already a strong nucleus in place of young up and comers as well as guys that are just hitting their prime.  This team can only get stronger with solid drafting between now and then.
