Obviously I was (and still am) perturbed by Shepard's inexcusable drops in a few key situations last season. Hopefully he will see considerably less action during the upcoming season.
amen
It's pretty clear that Mac can play the slot on passing downs but the worry is he's too small to block on running downs... So it might tip your hand to have him in the slot if you pass it too often
Fair assessment. Again, as I had eluded, he can be successful in a pinch.
But, I think it's pretty clear that our primary 3 receiver sets opening week will be:
X - Evans (true WR1)
F - Egbuka
Z - McMillan
Obviously, packages will vary personnel groupings.
The ability to keep defenses guessing and overloading them with talent

Hope Grizz is a chef, because he has a lot of ingredients.

Yup. No excuses play like a champion
ESPN with some interesting info
"It’s difficult to imagine Evans wearing another team’s jersey, in part because so many of the people attending Bucs games are wearing his jersey. Team owners don’t like letting go of franchise icons without good reason. When Evans was able to negotiate with teams during the 2024 offseason, there wasn’t an enormous market for his services, and Tampa was able to bring him back on a relatively modest deal given his résumé. (Consider that Godwin got a larger average salary coming off a serious ankle injury.) I would be surprised if Evans played elsewhere before retiring, but the Egbuka addition might give the Bucs added leverage if they struggle to come to terms with their star wideout after the 2025 season."
Great news
On the receiving end of Mayfield’s big plays and scoring strikes throughout the week were first-round pick Emeka Egbuka and second-year receiver Jalen McMillan. Egbuka is so polished and competitive. He looks like a pro already. McMillan has risen to the occasion with the addition of Egbuka, and it’s truly become a friendly “iron sharpens iron” situation at wide receiver.
As much as an Egbuka fan as I am - he still needs to prove on the field.
Great news, and I’m HERE for it!
I was thrilled with the part about MacMillan. If he is a legit threat going forward we are truly loaded
Yes, thought about adding something about McMillan but was in the middle of something and ADD kicked in.I was thrilled with the part about MacMillan. If he is a legit threat going forward we are truly loaded
You summed up my feelings on McMillan well.
Lets Go!
As much as an Egbuka fan as I am - he still needs to prove on the field.
He’s going to get his chance early…and starting this week.
Got a bad feeling Godwin goes on PUP and we don’t see him until Week 7.

I think he plays well 2 or 3 and we ease him in. Feels like they've been very vague with his status
Great article on why Godwin took way less to stay

Aldo details his injury both the nature and how it happened
and the culture issue discussed in the other thread.
Had gotten the notification that this article had dropped, but had not read it yet. Another good one by Pompei.Great article on why Godwin took way less to stay

like this line:
“I’m going to play until the game is over. And that was what I was doing.”
Speaks definitively to the point of who was responsible for Chris Godwin playing late in that game. Their Head coaches, nor their OC’s, can keep a veteran like Chris Godwin off the field if they want to be on it.
It is wild to think that JMAC can improve from last year and that Egbuka can hit the ground running. But honestly that is what I see playing out because the Bucs are really good at developing a plan for OL and WRs. Both young men are very cerebral along with their physical gifts.

I think JMac will lead the team in receiving yards. He was so good as a rookie, he’s ready to bust out.
