Id like to entertain the concept of Moving Chris Godwin to primarily a Slot receiver role. He's physically and attitude wise "built for it, " it allows him to flex his second best attribute. As a WR, GWIN!!!!4 is likely the best, or at least among the best, blocking WR's. Hes solid AF and stronger than your average linebacker-Corners dont like tackling him, much less having to deal with him blocking THEM. That 1 moveish (doesnt have to ONLY be slot, just more often) does 2 thing- 2birds 1stone- It puts him in a more prime position for him to do what he is best at catching the ball in the middle, getting yards after the catch and Keeping the chains moving! 2, his starting place along the LOS will be closer to the formation, QB, oline, and RB- more easily dangerous. We have ALL seen Chris throw a badasz block that springs our RB for a big gain, itll be easier for him to help the RB is all Im saying. Get a LG in the draft, sign a FA center for cheap, one that is past their prime but may have one gud season left, a guy with sage like wisdom and grit, like an old combat veteran who still swallows his dip juice (nasty-did that during AIT for years, one speck of gumline on one tooth is lower because of it)....who was that Guy who held Vea on that 4in'goal run for a td vs the Lions, how about that guy? They were talking as if he was going to retire....what would it take to get him here for just one more year just to teach Baker the proper oline calls...wait arent we looking for a new Oline coach, or would that be too soon? Long odds Aye, career Lion to take a job coaching the Bucs, impossible right? ME or LVD retiring in a uniform other than a Bucs uniform impossible too, or so I hopium.
A McVay tree hire, so I approve. Has experience calling plays at pro level and college so it shouldn't take as long as it did for Canales to get offense to gel.
What's even better, the Saints wanted to hire him a couple years ago to replace Carmichael and he turned them down.
looks to me as a move to retain baker
will see .. give him a chance
well the fact that they were 100% in on Baker, no surprise there.
i like that the guy has called plays before so at least they went with a little more experience than what i feared with Thad Lewis going from intern to OC in a couple years.
to be fair, Canales didnt have much experience, just 5 years as passing game coordinator with Seahawks; so dont feel there is much of a drop off there.
only con so far is that this dude looks like Mike Glennon...but ill let it slide
Wowl Bowles didn't take a timeout because he wanted to make sure to lose to help out his buddy? Yeah, maybe you are reading a little too much into that. LOL! That's hilarious. And you want Bowles to step down from DC? Why would you want to take away the only thing he can actually do really well?So this is a good thing??? Ok Cool, but who holds the final decision making on Game day. Who will be responsible for calling time outs and setting up the defensive scheme, will that be our HC again, we need a DC to either let Bowles focus soley on game management, or he needs to step down as HC to DC and focus soley on scheming his opponents week in week out and playing aggressive without the burden and fear that comes with being a HC on a perpetual hot seat. You know why part of me resents Bowles after that 4th quarter...I have a feeling, an inkling that Bowles felt SAFE after winning the Iggles game, he felt his seat had finally cooled down, so he reverted to comfort measures...to him it was all vanilla anyway, his seat was "cool and assuredly consistent" after the Iggles, right? HE( 😤) had exceeded expectations no? So hay, lets celebrate. He popped the champaign after the Iggles game and Gave his old BUUdi Dan Morgan a solid, a high 5 and a coke'anDa'Smile, Heres a TO for you Morgan, I want U to face the 49'rs, we dont even want one MORE PLAY.
Yeah, that to me is selfishness. He apparently is more enthused regarding his job security than he is enthused to see fire in the eyes of his pupils. To me, that bit is instantly a fireable offense, regardless of previous accolades (which in his case, are fewish). Take TB12 for example, the GOAT. Suppose... Lets say during our superbowl here at home (never been dun before and may never again), Brady had us at the 10 yard line, 1 second left on the clock, down by one point, one magic play away from making HISTORY IN TAMPAAAA BAYYYYYYY, and he Instead, spikes the ball into the dirt, winks at P'ma as a sign of respect and then goes on to his post game presser talking about a gentlemens understanding in regards to the proper and polite/respectful way to sho the younger generation Grace blah blah blah, hibbidy blu blah...I didnt hear a word you said (TB)-Eminem 8 mile (vs Lado-the guy with the wife beater/bra that doesnt fit him while trying to impersonate DMX). If that happened I would FIRE TB12 INSTANTLY, because yeah its a nice gesture, but you forgot who youre FIGHTING 4, your TEAMATES(=Nonblood FAMILY) your COACHES (=Mentors), and yoUR FKING FAN BASE (Without US, their IS NO FOOTBALL).
Maybe Im reading into that singular misstep, the symbolism of what refusing to take that TO means in regards to revealing a persons tru nature. And if so, is it possible for a TIger Lion to change his/her Stripes Spots....yes, yes it is, but its EXTREMELY HARD. Ive looked into Bowles Eyes, he doesnt have withIN him, here and NOW, the courage to Lead Himself much less a Team of men BIGGER than HIM. I doubt he will be able to change his Mane at all, I just hope he tries, at least...
Hopefully this new guy can integrate some of the old stuff so we don't have to start from scratch. It would also help to get Mayfield back because of his familiarity with the receivers and the O-line's familiarity with him. But the new guy is going to be worrying about calling plays. We don't need him having to worry about timeouts either.
I guess yeah. I mean you think of coaches hanging around longer than the QB, but thats not really true. So you do have to think more about whether the OC fits with the QB rather than the other way around. You are going to sign a QB for three years and yet our last OC took a hike after one year. This new one will leave too if he gets a HC job, or he gets let go when the HC gets fired. Either way the chances of any OC being here for more than two or three years is not very good.looks to me as a move to retain baker
will see .. give him a chance
But if you give a QB a hefty contract you have to stick with him at least for a while. If you are thinking long term the QB position is more long term than the OC position. Even though the Bucs hired the OC first, they were really hiring the OC based on the QB rather than getting an OC and finding a QB he likes.
Dont really think it says much about his prospects with us, but his last Kentucky season was rough and maybe even a little tension between him and Stoops over run v pass:

We dont have many options anyway when you realize that it has to be a PROMOTION CANDIDATE with Mayfield experience. Only a few people fit that description.

Not completely off the Deep End, hear me out. The idea was placed into my head by the media who reported that because of Bowles and Morgans history together, Bowles mentioned sumthing akin to a gentlemens understanding that the GAME WAS OVER (I disagree, we coulda had 6 seconds). Perhaps I was mislead, but the VAST majority of talking heads, who typically know more about football, than any one of us armchair GMs, say that not calling the TO was a catastrophic ERROR in the most important moment of his career to date. It was either incompetence-So Demote FROM HC TO DC- If I typed demote from DC to sumthing lower on the coaching tree, then I mispoke/mistyped, let me clarify.- Bowles "Ceiling" is DC UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE. At least thats MI 2c. Sorry- Tangent* Incompetence or sumthing else, like he knew he had a TO and CHOSE, for whatever reason, not to Call it. If he just comes out and says "Im an Idiot Coach and MEA Culpa for the TO situation, I vow to work on it tirelessly and hone my role as HC and never fail my team again" then I would let it slide. He just has to admit he's incompetent, he wont BTW...so if he's not incompetent'well'then he Chose not to. Y or UR FIRED. Thats my general 1 second feeling on the TO situation.

Who is Dan Morgan?
The LA Rams won the Super Bowl in their home stadium the very next year after the Bucs did it.

He still hasnt even admitted it was a mistake. He's doubled down on playing The "Gentlemans understanding that the game was over card. To me it IS BLACK AND WHITE. Either it was a mistake=incompetence or not a mistake=EXPLAIN!!!. The explanation of the "game was over" does not jive with me. Technically a game isnt over until its over. Until even the last second ticked off the game clock, as long as we can snap the ball with 0.00001 second, enough time to get the snap off and give out offense one more CHANCE to score. Ive seen clips of players dodging Band members on their way to score an Impossible touchdown, miracles happen.
lets Have a tiny bit of fun and incorporate a magical cat named S and and have it take us on a magical school ride to explore the definition of POSSIBILITY.
Do NOT READ FURTHER, VERY WEIRD POST TO FOLLOW- NON FOOTBALL RELATED MOSTLY. Unless you possess the ability to conceptualize The perfect infinity, married with the multiverse traveling in all time directions at all times. If you cant follow that without getting dizzi from the "distance it traveled/s" dont even try and crack the Schro Cat yet- Watch the Movie everything everywhere all at the same time with Michelle Yeoh, (just add the fact that time is also malleable like in interstellar) neat flick(s) for some light watching, and give it another go.
So NO its not black and white that the Game was over, ooor is it? Is the cat dead? Did the poison get him when no one was lookin? Bowles thought the game was ded, did he not, if not, Y not* call the time out? And he's hoping Still* that'itll be water under the bridge if no one shines a light on it and keeps it there. Shining the light is like the equivalent of finally opening the box and pausing the path of possibility and causing just one singularity moment in which all existence(?-one verse maybe) hangs upon U, the observer. I shine the light (shining observation) to not let anyone forget that he CHOSE NOT TO CALL TO, HE HOPED thot the game was over, he wanted his vacation to start early and drink some left over champagne* from the Iggles game*, he thot himself SAFE after the Iggles game*. ...................... .. . .. .... .......Or is the cat alive? Its a more optimistic viewpoint surely. However, It IS possible, given the theoretical framework of da'Scat/puSsy cat (Meow!!) to conceive of any possible outcome-singular (actively occurring infinitely in its own set of infinite loops if it(what does "IT" even mean???) so desires) as well as those we are unable to conceive of occurring simultaneously- AND into infinity in all directions conceivable +/- non conceivable directions-pleural. TLDR everything IS could be happening in this moment somewhere + infinity with an exponent also infinity. Sooo back to the PuSsy S Cat- Well it decided to turn itself into "Cat RICK" took a shyt in the box and then causally sipped the poison and dipped out. I say that cat "could be AND IS" both alive from the poison AND having a beer on my lap. TLDR, from the moment that I can recall, the TO was not used, he has indicated it was not in error...so, what be then, his explanation other than a gentlemans agreement or "the game was over." To ME the game was black and white (as the observer for mIne views), we still had One play that we left on the table, the last and most important one. Thats on Bowles, he took that away from us being able to observe it and picking a direction in "spacetimemultiverse". This entire thing with the cat, the minigame, was to show that Bowles either A did not make an intentional decision to forfeit the TO, or INTENTIONALLY CHOSE not to and ALL the possibilities mixed and in between. And BTW, Unintentional mistakes can and should be forgiven with the promise of intentional effort aimed squarley at growth and self development, but the first step is admitting you Goofed, If you cant do that, you cant pass go and collect $200. Bowles DOESNT HAVE IT IN HIM to come out and give us a proper explanation and THEN opening up his actions for scathing cross examination by his peers and fans. B(owles)READY to be fully transparent and open, if he can survive THAT kinda crossexamination this OofSeason, Ill put the coaches whistle in his mouth myself. In this version, Bowles cant du dat. If youve read this far and were able to follow, congrats, treat urself to a GIANT DOUBLE guzzle shot of RUm (work and driving context withstanding), the expired and cheap kind, I AM WE ARE PIrates afterall and we EAT PuSsy'cat as a chaser. But for real tho, thats enough mental exercise for today, take the rest of the month Oof, its leap year so the calendar gave you one more play day to rest ur brain and come back to prUvIt! Lets Gooooo!!!!!!!!!! Smart People!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So this is a good thing???
Who is Dan Morgan?
The LA Rams won the Super Bowl in their home stadium the very next year after the Bucs did it.
Not really sure, he never played with the Bucs, But Im assuming he's the shot caller in Carolina and Bribed Canales with 30 pieces of silver to Join him. Apperantly Bowles and this guy are old Buddies blah blah, and when it came time to choose between his team or buddie, he chose not to call the time out. Remember, I dont know the details if they are not Bucs related, those things are "over there" for now, many of you are FAR AND BEYOND more educated than I in these matters and details. DId I understand that wrong, is the Carolina GM and Bowles not old buddies? If so, then I need to re-evaluate my entire premise and prepare a heaping plate of (YUM) Crow. I love being proven wrong.
