Canales will be a future HC in due time
No doubt.
High football IQ, players really like him, good with the media, etc.
Canales will be a future HC in due time
agreed.
this thread is hilarious two games in.
what was the Bucs 2022 pass/run ratio for the season?
Kaufman:
”The formula is now in place for a young, hungry team eager to prove its many skeptics wrong. That offensive balance Dave Canales has stressed since his arrival seems to be working. The Bucs won’t be leading the NFL in pass attempts for the third consecutive season”
One site says the Bucs ran on 1st down last year roughly 22% of the time.
So far this year 37%
(Eagles maybe 50%?)
Bowles praising the OFFENSE . .
"“I think if we get in third-and-manageable – I know [Baker Mayfield has converted] some third-and-longs – if we can get in third-and-manageable, that gives us a good chance to succeed,” Bowles said. “We’ve been running it [well] enough to get in third-and-manageable positions so we’re going to try and continue that.”
The football simpleton now cries “outliers” out of pure ignorance. We can look at what Carroll’s teams did a decade ago, or what they’ve done recently.
Seattle’s NFL Ranks:
2020 - 19rd in Rushing attempts, 17th in Passing attempts
2021 - 27th in Rushing attempts, 29th in Passing attempts
2022 - 23rd in Rushing attempts, 15th in Passing attempts
Go look for some more articles, slapnuts. The men are talking.
It’s worth noting that Canales was Seattle’s “Passing Game Coordinator” in ‘20 and ‘21, before and after Carroll fired Schottenheimer. Yet Carroll still decided to go outside of the organization to hire Waldron in 2021.
Aikman 3rd quarter:
Kudos to Canales for sticking with the run. It's what he was brought here to do having spent 14 years with Pete Carroll . . Its what Bowles wants
weird . .
Carroll-style offense would drive some of the fans here nuts
Has this come to fruition yet? Doesn’t seem like it.
The problem is the dingleberry that made this claim thought Pete Carroll’s offenses were still what they were in the teens. It isn’t. We’ve seen similar stuff to what Waldron did in Seattle, not what Darrell Bevel did in Seattle. But because the same dingleberry is a simpleton that believes coach-speak anytime it’s offered and lacks any and all shame to acknowledge this, and here we are.

LOL. . .. i knew you'd love that Aikman quote . . .reality can be radioactive
Btw, the better Carroll style team WON the game
and if you go to the game thread you will see posters complaining about Bowles being too conservative ("Carroll-style offense would drive some of the fans here nuts"), as if that is why the Bucs got crushed

"the men are talking" lol
"Arjun Menon’s “The Scout” had the Bucs running on over 60% of their first downs in neutral situations coming into the Monday Night tilt with the Eagles."
It's like watching a toddler try to do calculus.
"Ain't as easy as it looks, huh, Canales?".......Byron Leftwich heard in conversation recently......
Rewatched the Bucs/Eagles game. Amazed how the Eagles offensive line opened up holes for the RB's. Eagles RB Swift had 130 yds rushing. He gained 100 of those yards before even being touched by a defensive player. In contrast the Bucs offensive line was offensive to watch.
Carroll-style offense would drive some of the fans here nuts
Bucs website in November
“Will the Bucs just pound the ball to nowhere Sunday (again)? And then next week will Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales once again stand at a podium, shrug his shoulders and caution fans that “it takes time?”
lol
Carroll-style offense would drive some of the fans here nuts
After a 37 point game
“
But, this is the situation which Bucs fans find themselves. Even casual Bucs fans know the Bucs have major weapons in the pass game, but that doesn’t matter to the folks running the Bucs because the head coach and offensive coordinator want to be a running team, come hell or high water.”
