Music to ears:
"Dave Canales Is Getting Creative
The bottom line is that throughout the season you see Dave Canales continually adapting his offense to better suit his players."
From an article about Evans' routes against the Titans
Canales discussing why running/balance is the foundation of the offense, particularly against teams like the 49ers
“Again, it’s like, if you’re going to try and make it a dropback game from snap one, good luck. It’s why we build the offense the way we do, so that you can have a chance to beat these really special defenses by being able to be balanced, mixing it the right way with the run game and the [play-]actions, the quick game, the empty stuff.”
last years offense was basically “drop back game from snap one”

Which is why that "genius" OC is employed.
“We’re always hoping for those big games [on the ground] to control it from the run game,” Canales said. “It opens up a lot more things for us – play actions and some of the screens and things that we do there.”

”"It's really a football thing, it's a scheme thing," Carroll remarked. "I want to see if we can run the ball more effectively to focus the play of the opponents and see if we can force them to do things like we'd like them to do more, like we have been able to do that in the past. That doesn't mean we're going to run the ball 50 times a game, it means we need to run the ball with direction and focus and style that allows us to dictate the game. Frankly, I'd like to not play against two-deep looks all season long next year, so we have to be able to get that done.”

It's all the clueless bastard can do.

Running the ball is the only way to get defenses out of 2-Deep looks.
Didn’t you hear?
The. Only. Way.

Canales has done a decent job with what he has to work with. With that said I think we might see a few more wrinkles in the coming weeks because right now NFL teams know the Bucs like to run the ball a lot on first downs and that makes the Bucs a little too predictable.

agreed
White is looking pretty decent the last few weeks. Just have to upgrade the OL in the off season.
