Which is why that "genius" OC is employed.

We’re always hoping for those big games [on the ground] to control it from the run game,” Canales said. “It opens up a lot more things for us – play actions and some of the screens and things that we do there.”

"It's really a football thing, it's a scheme thing," Carroll remarked. "I want to see if we can run the ball more effectively to focus the play of the opponents and see if we can force them to do things like we'd like them to do more, like we have been able to do that in the past. That doesn't mean we're going to run the ball 50 times a game, it means we need to run the ball with direction and focus and style that allows us to dictate the game. Frankly, I'd like to not play against two-deep looks all season long next year, so we have to be able to get that done.”

Running the ball is the only way to get defenses out of 2-Deep looks.

Didn’t you hear?

The. Only. Way.

Canales has done a decent job with what he has to work with.  With that said I think we might see a few more wrinkles in the coming weeks because right now NFL teams know the Bucs like to run the ball a lot on first downs and that makes the Bucs a little too predictable.

White is looking pretty decent the last few weeks.  Just have to upgrade the OL in the off season.

@biggs3535

from PR today discussing the recent roster moves

"[David] Moore was originally signed by the Bucs due to his previous experience with offensive coordinator having played for the Seahawks in the first three years of his NFL career. Coming into the season, he was the only player on Tampa Bay’s offense with previous experience of the system."

You may recall he was actually released by the Bucs before the season but then quickly put on practice squad?

"Moore was in a weird spot, as he didn't appear to be on the roster bubble at all during training camp but also wasn't in line to take over the WR3 role vacated by Russell Gage. A key benefit of having Moore around was his connection to new offensive coordinator Dave Canales, as the two go way back to their days together in Seattle.

One of the reasons the Bucs signed Moore was to not only add depth to the wide receiver room but serve as a resource for Canales as he installed his new system. It sounds like Moore will still be around to help with that, but will do so as a member of the practice squad."

Moore was drafted by the Seahawks in 2017 and played through the 2020 season.

Remind me again, when did Waldron join the Seahawks?

:-)

Buggsy this is you TODAY to an other poster:

Everybody here understands why you're running from that now.

So Buggsy, you admit you were wrong to say that the Bucs offense under Canales would be like Waldron's Seahawks offense last year?

Posted by: @biggs3535

but it’s pretty clear the football simpletons aren’t aware of Seattle’s offense last season
