from PR today discussing the recent roster moves
"[David] Moore was originally signed by the Bucs due to his previous experience with offensive coordinator having played for the Seahawks in the first three years of his NFL career. Coming into the season, he was the only player on Tampa Bay’s offense with previous experience of the system."
You may recall he was actually released by the Bucs before the season but then quickly put on practice squad?
"Moore was in a weird spot, as he didn't appear to be on the roster bubble at all during training camp but also wasn't in line to take over the WR3 role vacated by Russell Gage. A key benefit of having Moore around was his connection to new offensive coordinator Dave Canales, as the two go way back to their days together in Seattle.
One of the reasons the Bucs signed Moore was to not only add depth to the wide receiver room but serve as a resource for Canales as he installed his new system. It sounds like Moore will still be around to help with that, but will do so as a member of the practice squad."
Moore was drafted by the Seahawks in 2017 and played through the 2020 season.
Remind me again, when did Waldron join the Seahawks?
:-)
Buggsy this is you TODAY to an other poster:
Everybody here understands why you're running from that now.
So Buggsy, you admit you were wrong to say that the Bucs offense under Canales would be like Waldron's Seahawks offense last year?
but it’s pretty clear the football simpletons aren’t aware of Seattle’s offense last season

Let's check it out, dumbass:
We really don’t know what type offense Canales will run, but it’s pretty clear the football simpletons aren’t aware of Seattle’s offense last season - as they ranked 23rd in Rushing attempts and 15th in Passing attempts. That’s not “ground and pound”, by any stretch of the imagination.
2022 Seattle Offense: 23rd in Rushing attempts & 15th in Passing attempts
2023 Tampa Offense: 23rd in Rushing attempts & 19th in Passing attempts
You’re great at this, fuckstick. No run-first offense. Keep up the good work and continue dreaming about me.
Just watch the voluminous number of string-posts that will follow this pathetic loser shoving his foot in his mouth. Luckily, there won’t be anything worth responding to, so you’ll have the last post you so desperately need.

Buggsy, you might be the King of Projection, the troll who tells people to "own it" because he cant himself.
thanks for confirming
CANALES:
“For me, looking at it, it was always that I wanted to build something that we could be proud of,” Canales said. “That’s been the conversation for the whole season, especially with our struggles early on. I wanted to just show the staff, I wanted to show this team, I wanted to show our group: I’m not going to quit on the run game. I’m not going to just fold it up, give up and start throwing the ball around the yard.
“That’s not who I am, that’s not where I come from. I want to continue to improve our pass game and get back on track just in our efficiency and all of that. Walking off the field at the half [last Sunday in Atlanta], ‘Goodie’ [run game coordinator Harold Goodwin] and I are walking together and we’re like, ‘Is he going to just keep doing this?’ And Goodie just told me, ‘Hey, believe in the right calls that are going to help us win the game. Don’t worry about me, don’t worry about all of us.’
“He wasn’t telling me, ‘Hey man, just run the ball,’ he was saying, ‘Trust what they’re giving us.’ That really did give me a lot of confidence to [think] if they’re playing the style of defense that they’re going to play, we’ve got to run them out of the stadium.”
HE IS RIGHT
LAST YEAR the Bucs "quit on the run game." They decided to "fold it up, give up and start throwing the ball around the yard" and it did not go well with the GOAT at QB
This is Pete Carroll quoted two weeks ago in an article entitled;
Seahawks looking to even out run-pass ratio that’s out of balance
"Still, the 28-to-15 pass-to-run ratio in that game is right in line with the 84-to-43 ratio of the other two games, which included 47-to-26 in Sunday’s 29-26 win over Washington.
Carroll said this week that, ideally, those numbers would even out some.
“I’m still working at it,: he said of the run-pass mix. “It’s still a work in progress.
“We’re looking to the run ball well. That’s important to us. We were effective running the football. We ran it 26 times. I think when you get in the 30s, it’s a good mix. Whatever happens with the throwing game from there, you’re in good shape.”
you are all about posting in other threads, complete with the standard name calling MO.. . .. BUT nothing in this thread? Thats because this thread is NOW about you hilariously claiming some sort of football smarts over everyone else . . and now being prove to be WRONG.
Btw, in this thread you MISTAKENLY quote DH because you think (loosest interpretation of "think" ) he is agreeing with you BUT DH is actually quoting Josh Q from PR who, like you, is ALSO WRONG about the Bucs offense being like the 2022 Seahawks
You are forever calling people who disagree with you "idiots"
Ironic, right?
There is still a lot of the season left but I have seen enough to say that PR staff is off their rocker by claiming the Bucs need to draft a WR. Bowles has been clear he wants to convert the team to a more balanced or run oriented offense and Canales has play called this way so far this season. Pass attempts are there but Mayfield can't connect downfield so really the issue is the Bucs need further investment on the OL, RB and another TE to pair with Otton.
further investment on the OL, RB and another TE to pair with Otton.
and unless Palmer develops a reliable third receiver
of course, the whole team may changes after this season
In the lead up to the 49ers game Canales said the followng:
“There’s a style that you have to play these guys (better teams). Again, it’s like, if you’re going to try and make it a dropback game from snap one, good luck. It’s why we build the offense the way we do, so that you can have a chance to beat these really special defenses by being able to be balanced, mixing it the right way with the run game and the [play-]actions, the quick game, the empty stuff," Canales https://www.joebucsfan.com/2023/11/dave-canales-there-is-a-reason-why-the-bucs-are-trying-to-build-a-ground-and-pound-offense/d-and-pound-offense /" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said.
The Bucs lost. But, his point and his link to Pete Carroll appeared later in the critical win against the Falcons. Here it is covered by JBF:
"In the second half against the Falcons last Sunday, the Bucs had three consecutive drives against Atlanta that included 19 carries for 101 yards. Here are the run totals in order: 5, 4, 12, 5, 0, 1, 2, 3, 7, 15, 6, 10, 5, 6, 4, 9, 0, 3, 4."
Playing on Canales own words earlier this year, Rick Stroud of the Times summarized the Falcons win like this:
"When Dave Canales decided to run a team out of its own stadium."
Who knows how the Packers game will play pout. They have been weak against the run. BUT they shpould be selling out to stop the run, which should mean some explosives IF Mayfield can connect lol
And of course, our defense has to be able to get off the field
Pass attempts are there but Mayfield can't connect downfield
ALL YEAR LONG...
Can't hit on the deep ball, trigger shy, can't beyond the first read, etc.
Canales has made the passing game easy for him, yet...
Well with the Packers game Mayfield was connecting with nearly everything. But Canales play calling has been very varied and not vanilla at all down the stretch. I am impressed with Canales doing more with less compared to Bowles that has far more resources poured into the other side of the ball.

Me too
Its one of the most puzzling things. Uf you look at the game threads you have everyone all over Mayfield early (just like there are multiple posts on the boards assailing Mayfield) but all season the defense has struggled to get off the field. Some of that has been masked by fortunate turnovers or good stout red zone D, but NOT being able to get off the field switches field position, takes up time . .that happened a bunch today but no one seems to mind EVEN AS THEY CITICIZE BOLWES FOR THINGS LIKE TIME OUTS OR BLAME HIM FOR THE RUNNING BIAS (LOL)
HOW ABOUT THE DAMN DEFENSE SUCKING?
