Productive player, but I can't see us drafting a backup for Lavonte and/or special teamer.  Was he not blitzed at all for the Tigers?  1.5 career sacks for a 2 year starter.  I guess maybe projects as a pass down lb?  I don't think he's a guy that has any chance of moving Mason outside.  I'm not sure I would look at him before the 6th, but I guess it depends on who's still on the board when we pick in the 5th.

We are going to lose Casillas at a minimum.  He'll need replaced.  No reason why we wouldn't draft a LBr if wee don't go after an FA one

If we plan on using our strong side lb in pass coverage more then pass rush, I think Barrow would be an option.  I think he could potentially be a nice piece.  A run and tackle linebacker who would come right in on special teams.  Could be a substitution lb on passing downs and/or heavy passing formations as well.  I just don't see how we look at him in the 4th unless we pick up a bunch of picks.  Again, I think his best position would be the one our best linebacker plays.Doubling back to something else Justin mentioned in his article.  Did we really use player's opinions of opponents to evaluate prospects?  Is that a thing?  That seems like such amateur hour **CENSORED** to me.

He's raw, but he has the speed and athleticism that could make him a decent coverage LB in Lovie's scheme. In the 4th or 5th he'd be a decent pick. I can see him being a passing down specialist. He'd instantly be the 2nd best coverage LB on the team with what's currently on the roster.

I would have a real hard time using our 3rd draft pick in the 2014 draft on a guy we view as a situational defender and special teamer.  I'm not sure our roster is or will be "there" in April.  I can't imagine there not being a bunch of guys I'd rather still on the board when our pick in the 4th rolls around.  We'd have to pick up a bunch of additional picks and slaughter the free agent market at several positions before he would come onto my radar in the 4th.  We're talking about a guy we think could be a pass down coverage (not blitzing, coverage) linebacker.  How valuable is that really?  Let's just let Lavonte develop his coverage skills and put another safety on the field and call it a day.

Our 3rd pick is in the 4th round. That's where he's projected to go. Finding a starter there is never a guarantee. Barrow has just as much a chance to develop into one than anyone else, IMO.

They obviously aren't in love with Foster at Mike, and there's really only one MLB worth drafting in the first two rounds. I'm all for this kid, unless we can somehow recoup a 3rd round pick and get a shot at Yawin Smallwood or Christian Jones. See if he can handle it, if he can't, he'll be solid LB depth and we can address it in 2015.

I don't see Barrow as an NFL mlb (though full disclosure I didn't think Kuechly would play mlb at this level either).  I like him at the point of attack less then I liked Lavonte coming out of Nebraska.  The only facet of his game I see him better at then Mason is pass coverage.  I hope we are not drafting Mason Foster's replacement at mlb based on pass coverage ability.  The position I see him potentially developing into a starter at is wlb.  We don't need one of those.  I am totally a bpa guy when it comes to the draft, but not in a vacuum.  If it's not a pass rusher, linebacker is towards the bottom of position groups I would like to address in this draft.  4th round (and especially where we pick) is going to be a premium spot.  If we come on the clock there and I can't name you 10 players I would rather select I will be shocked.  If 4th round is this kid's grade, I'll pass.

Bucs Meet With LSU Linebacker   every player they can at the CombineEven if they have no intention of drafting a player, they like to see what makes him tick, for future reference.

Said this for a while. The Bucs need a better coverage middle linebacker. Love Mase. But not at MLB in a cover scheme. Seen enough of that.

I think they are looking at LB depth more so than to replace the Nature Boy. They want to push him.
