NASCAR fans have a newly redesigned plate, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles announced Tuesday.

Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will soon offer the redesigned plates, which feature a larger Bucs’ flag with the updated skull against a pewter background. The old plate had a white background and the old logo along with “Tampa Bay Buccaneers” written across the bottom. The Bucs unveiled a new uniform design last year to mixed reviews. Fans can preorder the tags now at www.myfloridaspecialtyplate.com. They cost is $25 a year on top of the cost of vehicle registration. Proceeds from the plates, which debuted in 1996, benefit The Glazer Family Foundation and the Florida Sports Foundation. NASCAR fans also have a newly redesigned plate, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles announced Tuesday. Instead of one stock car against a white background, the new design features three realistic-looking cars that appear to be racing around a banked turn with grandstands in the background. Across the bottom, it reads “The birthplace of NASCAR.” The Department of Highway Safety expects the new NASCAR plates to be in stock by the end of this week. They cost $25 a year.Revenue from the sale of the plate, which debuted in 2007, goes to the NASCAR Foundation, which funds charitable organizations.
