With the addition of Jenson the line is pretty good.
At center (32 start) Jensen ranked 8th and Marpet ranked 10th
At Guard (64 start) Marpet ranked 14th in 2016.
At RT (32 start) Dotson ranked 5th---The Bucs best showing
At Guard (64 start) Pamphile ranked 74th and E. Smith ranked 45th
At Guard Sweezy ranked 31st about midway of starting guards
This is what was said about Sweezy:
After some questioned whether he would play football again because of medical complications, J.R. Sweezy made it back and put up some solid tape this season. His hand technique is what has improved the most since he had last seen the field, and although he doesn't have elite physical traits anymore with his injuries, he has continued to take strides after converting from the defensive side of the ball.
It is possible that with one more year to heal Sweezy could be better in 2018.
LT (32 start) D. Smith ranked 25th---bottom fourth.
I would love to have Nelson, but the OL w/o Nelson, based on last years play, with the addition of Jensen, and sending Marpet back to Guard (probably LG) is not too bad.
D. Smith we can only hope improves, because the Bucs seem committed to him for now.
The write-up from NFL 1000 on Smith was that on one play he plays quite good and on the next, not too good---inconsistency.
So the Bucs have 3 very good OL, one average guard, and a LT that we hope gets more consistent
