Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio suggested that some Buccaneers' players feel relieved that Tom Brady is no longer on the team.
"What a mess of distractions last year with everything that was going on with Brady," Florio said. "And to be free from that, to be beyond that, I think there’s going to be a lot of [Bucs] who are relieved, and rejuvenated and recharged this year."
Brady and the Buccaneers, for that matter, dealt with a ton of distractions last season - many of which stemmed from Brady's side of things while also trying to work in a new head coach's system.
Now with those distractions in the past, Florio believes that it could definitely be true that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' players are relieved that Brady is gone from the team.
"They’re not going to come out and say it, but I think they’re going to feel it, and I think that’s good for the Buccaneers," Florio added about the vibe inside the team's locker room.
Bucs franchise prior to Brady - no publicity
bucs franchise during Brady - all the sports shows talked about
bucs franchise after Brady - no publicity
for players looking to build a brand for after their career- wouldn’t you rather have the publicity?
Hard to believe much of the news/internet these days. Seems like just nothing but click bate/hot angles that are non starters
Probably true, but he's not stating any sources here, just his speculation. He doesn't even base it on anything other than what is common knowledge about last season. Must be a slow day for his sources. I do think the Bucs will surprise people. It wasn't a team that Brady was holding together with his duct tape.
Lol @ anything that hack Florio posts.
A broken clock is right more often than that jackoff.

the division is weak and I am cautiously optimistic but I think most pundits will have the saints as the clear favorite
alot of question marks around this team
will baker turn it around or is there something to him being on 4 teams in less than a year?
how will the offensive line perform with Jensen returning from injury, wirfs as the only hold overs from elite 2020,2021 teams?
can hall and JTR earn their draft value or will they bust?
how will Shaq perform returning from injury?
is this the year David hits a wall? What’s going on with white? Say what you will but unless we draft a guy in 1st or 2nd, his replacement will be a step back for 2023 season
how will the kicker perform? Grant it, succup didn’t have range but was nearly automatic within 40 yards. Something the Bucs struggled with the 10 years prior to him.
how will the play calling be with first time offensive coordinator? One would think it can’t be worse than last year.
can Bowles gain back the respect of the locker room or is he a lame duck coach?
the reason for optimism is that we still have some studs on the team - evans, Godwin, wirfs, vea, David, white, Davis, dean, Barrett, Winfield; but realistically this teams bar is set at 5-12 record. If we manage to go 8,9 wins that would be a hell of a season
that with brady and spotlight is normal, some players might like it, some might not … all fine!
and baker is just another placeholder. his tasks are simple: 1. to fill in until we try next wannabe franchise QB and 2. to try to get some wins with favorable schedule and then “we will see” how bad NFC south really is.
OK, also 3. to throw mike thousand more yards and that’s just about it
I’m glad too , dirtball tommy , grounds crew glad too
Unsourced mindreading by Florio. Pure speculation. Flush.
Florio has to produce content. Speculation creates traffic because the “Brady is a god” crowd will be offended and the Brady haters thrilled. And it’s at least steeped in truth that we all saw. (Well… um .. (awkward silence) .. um, it was really just the play calling)
Thanks to Tom Brady for the SB season, but I think even he knew that his skills had eroded. Thus, he retired.
There's truth to this but Florio is missing the point.
Bowles is a push over head coach. Players publicly said other players were showing up late to meetings. With Brady gone there's basically no expectations or accountability and the players can just come in and collect their check and go 3-14.
