Buccaneers place Russell Shepard on injured reserve, sign Tommy Streeter to practice squad By Sander Philipse?@Sanderrp Dec 17 2013, 6:53pmKim Klement-USA TODAY Sports The Tampa Bay Buccaneers make a couple of roster moves. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed wide receiver Russell Shepard on injured reserve. There was no replacement signing on the NFL transaction wire. Shepard injured his foot in Sunday's game after failing to properly execute a handoff on a reverse on a kickoff return, which led to a fumble and a touchdown for the San Francisco 49ers that effectively sealed the game as a loss. Shepard should be more remembered for his outstanding play on special teams this year, though, having taken a whopping 60% of special teams snaps this year. He's displayed outstanding strength and speed on coverage teams, which may translate to a bigger role on offense once he returns from his foot injury next year. The Buccaneers also signed wide receiver Tommy Streeter to their practice squad, terminating DT Richard Clebert's contract. Streeter was a sixth-round pick for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 NFL draft, but spent his first season on injured reserve and didn't make the roster this year. He spent of most of this season with the Bills as a practice squad player. Streeter has the size (6'5", 215 lbs.) and speed to be a very good receiver, but obviously hasn't actually produced on the practice field. http://www.bucsnation.com/2013/12/17/5221804/buccaneers-place-russell-shepard-on-injured-reserve-sign-tommy
The Cowboys worked out 3 defensive backsBrandon Burton, Myron Lewis and D.J. Moore. Aaron Wilson NFPDecember 17, 2013, 10:31 AM EST..
With the Dallas Cowboys featuring the worst defense this NFL season, the organization tried out three defensive backs, according to a league source. The Cowboys worked out defensive backs Brandon Burton (Utah), Myron Lewis (Vanderbilt) and D.J. Moore (Vanderbilt) to possibly help a unit that's struggled against the pass. Dallas ranks 32nd in defending the pass, averaging 297.4 yards per game allowed through the air. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider
This past off-season, Russell Shepard was being forecast by the Eagles fans and media as having a legit shot at their #2 WR spot... He also told media he signed with them as a FA before the draft had concluded. Not sure if the Eagles have been penalized or not... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/30/russell-shepard-says-he-signed-with-eagles-during-draft/ LOL; ol' Myron Lewis just won't go away...
...and the fallout from the botched fumble continues...
so Myron Lewis is relegated to "trying out" for teams and we burned a roster spot for on this guy for 4 seasons? Good evalulaiton of talent. Sometimes you can make up for a crappy pick by realizing it quickly and cutting your loss
I always had high hopes for Streeter. What happened to this guy?
Cowboys also signed Spurlock
Myron Lewis is already on our team . . . . just ask FRG .. . .oh . . wait . . that's the NEW Myron Lewis . . .. our starting QB .. . . . .nevermind
Myron is an interesting case. He must have practiced really well. Kind of an anti-"gamer"
even though success is as much mental as physical, seems many cant get over the fact that Myron Lewis looks the part.
Who the hell is Russel Shepard? Don't tell me it's the guy that dropped the ball against the Skins back in the day.

hahahah not sure if this is sarcasm but that's Edell Shepard. I haven't heard his name in ages and rightfully so.
Say what you will Bucs but cutting Shepard reeks of a coach pissed off at a player. He walked off the field pretty good after that botched play. Now he's suddenly hurt. PLEASE.

He's not cut. His salary is guaranteed, and he's on the team.
