3rd try is the charm...

This is what got me interested: "On the other side, Tampa Bay is about average historically for the worst defense in the league at this point. The Bucs are no longer among the worst defenses we've ever tracked."

In case you missed it, what he's saying is that for a 32nd ranked defense the Bucs are about average historically. That's interesting.

Bucs are ranked 27th in DVOA (as a team) below CLE and above DET. Offense is 11 and defense 32. The offense has been doing worse in the last few weeks and the defense improving. The biggest improvement was this week.

I keep banging this gong: Bucs are 26th in Special Teams. This is the best ranking they've had under Kaczor/Koetter. That Kaczor was hired (or never fired) is criminal and is only because its hard for journalists to objectively evaluate special teams (and most poeple don't care). Not even accounting for the kicker: the Bucs special teams sucks. And this is the best year in years!

Winston is now eligible for DVOA: ranks 14th in DVOA and 21st in DYAR. Simplistically, DVOA is value per play and DYAR is total value. Those numbers will converge with more games. And Winston is 11th in QBR.

Bucs are down to 8th in Points/Drive (Off) and up at 31st in Pts/Drive (Def). Overall, offense is 8th in points/game and defense is 32.

30th in Turnover Differential, tied for 24th in Takeaways and tied for 5th in Giveaways.

Field Goals: Chandler is tied for 21st in FG% (out of interest, 23rd in attempts). 13 kickers are above 90%. If he makes one more kick they're at 90% so its not as damning as it appears (although not great). The more concerning is XP% which is 23rd. Only Mason Crosby, Chris Boswell, and Caleb Sturgist have missed more XPs.
