Veteran wide receiver Cecil Shorts was squeezed out by younger options in Houston, but may have found a bit of a market for himself.
According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, Shorts is expected to visit with the Buccaneers in the next 24 hours.
He had a decent season for the Texans last year, catching 42 passes. But after they spent two high picks on receivers (Will Fuller and Braxton Miller), it was harder for them to find a spot for him.
The Buccaneers could use a dependable third option behind starters Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, as they only carried five on their 53-man roster after final cuts. Whether they want to sign Shorts this week and guarantee his salary for the season remains to be seen.
