Mayfield has been dog crap today. So many missed wide open receivers and could not connect.
He was horrendous. Dudes running wide open all over the field and he couldn’t connect. Hell, many throws weren’t even close.
There were so many batted passes I thought Simms was playing.

Was at the game and thought it couldn't be real how many times receivers were running wide open, only for Baker to miss them.
And, now that the All-22 is out..
...it was worse than I thought.
Baker was BAD.
how many times receivers were running wide open,
good sign for Canales
“stop running so much on 1st down!”
Mayfield interception is a 1st down play action pass attempt.
next series run for 6 yards on 1st. Get a first down on the next play
next series pass on 1st. .. end up punting

Lolz. Completely clueless.
Tough loss but many positives from that game. At almost every opportunity - a breakaway pass, a block near the EZ, a dropped pass, an overthrown pass - the Bucs failed to execute.. but they were in it, including even running against one of the toughest run defenses in football.
they are not that far away. Let’s see how they respond.
they are not that far away
I agree with this sentiment. From what I could see on the TV, the batted passes were being thrown to open receivers. If Baker could have figured out how to keep his passes from being blocked at the line of scrimmage, the outcome would have been different (probably).

"“We have to go back to the drawing board and find some more ways, some easy ways to complete some plays on first down to get us going a little bit,” Bowles said.
(the interweb delivers . . .)

agree
on the first one, the interception, love to hear posters thoughts on that play, particularly those who have access to film. Mayfield is short, of course, but on television it looks like the O-line is pushed back a few yards into Mayfield. Not giving Mayfield an excuse, just observing . . and just from TV so . . .
That one play set the game off on a great path if not for the tip

I know this twit thinks he’s making a good point, but leap years come along more frequently than that. If there is anyone that can translate Loony-Football-Ignoramus speak to English, I would be much obliged.

Buggsy, anyone whose been around here for a while know that this^^ is how you slink off with your tail between your legs.
Everyone knows that because they see it happen all the time because you go out of your way ALWAYS to try to argue with people even when much of the time you're just MISreading or assuming or posting out of your AZZ
Maybe next time take a deep breath and have a snickers bar before posting?
Just a thought . . .
Buggsy, multiple threads here talking football WITHOUT your nonsense. Thats NOT coincidence.
and there was a FOOTBALL question RIGHT ABOVE your post you could've commented on
We have to talk about the punt in the 4th qtr. Bucs are down 14 with 10:52 left with 4th and 2 at their own 33 yard line. I don't think the win probably calculators are perfect but it gives the Bucs a 1% chance of winning the game when punting in that situation.

The interception is a great example.
Defense looks like it’s in a disguised C3.
Safety fully bites on the PA.
For some reason, Baker pump fakes, giving the DL enough time to push Hainsey back.
If he wouldn’t have hesitated, it’s a TD.
Not even mentioning that Palmer should’ve had 150 with 2 tuddies, but Baker apparently can’t hit water if he fell out of a boat (when it comes to the deep stuff).
It’s just an ongoing trend with Baker. He either doesn’t see it, is late on the read, or just hesitates to pull the trigger.
I mean, every QB misses opportunities, but the amount Baker has is egregious. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-10 in 5 games.
In the end, the majority of our expectations were curbed due to being spoiled with elite QB play the last 3 years; but damn…you have to hit these.
The GREAT news though, is that Canales is proving every game that these concepts are scheming receivers WIDE open.
Hopefully, execution gets better.
