Very disappointing to lose after the highlight reel effort by Mayfield on that last drive. Couldn't punch it in. Defense couldn't stop a 41 second drive with one timeout.Baker did as much as he could when all he has to throw to are backs and tight ends
amen
massive kudos to Mayfield for the effort but he’s only having to make that kind of play because the Bucs have no weapons due to injury
The Red Board is always awash in posters with an agenda (hate Bowles/love Bowles) but any reasonable person would watch that game and see a Bucs team doing the best it can with massive injuries
Are you shocked that Bowles defense can't come up clutch?
No more shocked than seeing some of his biggest supporters in this thread still defending the idiot.
Why wouldn't he go out and make some moves to save his coach then?
He's clearly prioritized getting out of the current cap situation versus bringing in band-aids for a team not going anywhere.
And, I don't fault him for that.
Idk man. I get it to some extent but these are late picks with almost zero upside.
I understand the frustration.
But, I like the long ball approach. Especially with the fucking clueless moron we have at HC.
I will agree with this IF we move on from him. If we end up keeping him, then Licht needs all the criticism in the world.
If Licht and ownership keep this worthless douche canoe (especially if we lose Coen in the process), then I'll be right there with you calling for his head.
But, I'm not worried about it.
He's gone.
We are losing close games three weeks in a row. Huge games. Couldn't stop a 41 second drive. I don't put it all on the head coach when the Bucs couldn't punch it in from inside the ten at the end. But his defense couldn't stop the Niners with 41 seconds and one timeout. Even if you don't put it all on Bowles, how can you go into next season with confidence that he's going to lead us to a great season? What would make you trust that Bowles knows how to win? His players have his back, but that may be more about the quality of the players we have. They fired Dungy and brought in Gruden. They fired Koetter and brought in Arians. Both times it worked out. The players got over it and won a Superbowl. The trick is to get somebody good to come in, not just the next Greg Schiano or Lovie Smith because you can't get anybody better.
And where was Vi Jones? Wasn't he supposed to come in and play linebacker? He had zero tackles if he even got into the game at all.

I was only joking when I said they need to go for the TD on 4th down because the SF offense was going to get down the field rather easily for the game winning FG.
Half joking.
"Gotta play to win down there on offense"
- Baker Mayfield
Yeah. Bowles isn't here next year.

Way to take a stand
pfft clown show

But he threw it to Miller
Bowles has always been a mediocre at best game manager. He continues to show that. Baker is pretty solidly showing he is a function of the talent around him and not a force multiplier. You cant have a coach and QB who don't make the team better. One of those cats has to be able to elevate the rest of the roster. I'm guessing Bowles is considered more disposable and we will live with Baker being a dog.
I believe it was Coen that called the offense. We had no WR’s we can trust with the game on the line, so without our talent - Coen’s hands were tied.

this seems obvious
and confirmed by the stats.
heresy on the Red Board

Oh...
So Coen had more faith in his RB's in that situation than his franchise QB.
Seems very unlike him.
Well, losing Tristan made it more difficult.
